I believe the Holley 850's carbs flow more than the Holley 950's. Look at the specs. A 950 is just a 750 carb with a 1 3/4 base plate-the 750's use a 1 11/16.

The Holley 850's have both a bigger main body and 1 3/4 base plate. The 750 and 950 have 1 3/8 venturies, where the 850 carb has 1 9/16 venturies.

So no matter how Holley rates them, a Holley 850 flows more air than a Holley 950, dumb but true.

If you really need to keep costs down, you COULD always use another Mopar body. Like a 2 door Chrysler Newport. Might not look as cool but they are much cheaper and can take headers, trans, all of the same mods.

Only thing is-as I have learned-the car will not keep going up in value as the higher prices body's will.

But its still a Mopar and can be fun to drive as well.

Won't be a "chick magnet" either, so...maybe its best to bite the bullet.

 My way isn`t the only way but it works well ,, none of my customers ahve ultimatly been disappointed with the result , most are surprised @ how much power is really there !!

Hi Sunny, welcome! 

I assume you don't have a Challenger/Cuda.

My  is for a good bang for the buck, get a '72-'74 Challenger/Cuda with a 440/4 speed combo.  You can find them for less than $20k easy in very good shape, depending upon where you are.  I've seen one for as low as $12k locally in decent shape.

Where are you located?

I like to peruse craislist to see what's around locally.

Here's a nice 1973 Cuda in my area, 440/4 speed, with a '70 grill.  Looks nice but this one is more than $20k...

After you get one of these you can do all the fun mods you like, $$$ permitting!
