Ok gang I'm gonna try this again.
When I got Miss NIKKI she had a bit of surface rust in the trunk. And the rear valance was slightly pushed up along with the gas tank being dented. I figured I would make that the first "bodyshop" related re-do for her. I made it clear to my (very understanding (Mopar owning/383 4sp RR/ 440 (6) R/T se/440 4sp RR new project)bodyguy) that I wanted to be totally involved in the project. We got her over to his shop in mid-december. And started dissassembly. Between the long days at my shop. And the occassional nights, and weekends at the body shop my arthritis has been kicking !! You other guys with me on the over 50 gang can relate I'm sure! Meanwhile I was ording parts, and as you know one thing leads to the next.
Parts so far have been, trunk floor/gas tank/tank braces/tank straps(stanless)/tank mat/tank grommet/3/8 sender(to replace the 5/16/3/8 fuel lines(stainless)/fuel seperator(for the 3/8 lines)/inner trunk exhaust hanger mount brackets/stainless vent line and plate w grommets/body plug kit/right rear window regulator. Why the reg?? I took the back seat out for the project. Once that was out I could take the trim panel off. The original reg always skipped so why not fix while it's easy and accessable. Thanks to moparclown on that part. (More on that later!) And theres probly a part or two I'm forgetting.
Next step was to scrape the caulk and blast the trunk. Did you ever notice when you use 10 lbs of sand it seems you clean up 20??? We've got the floor trimmed and in along with the support brackets so far. We caulked earlier in the week. And should be spraying the trunk this weekend.
Got the floor from rosevillemoparts (mopardave) and the braces from year one. Both of good quality and fit! BTW both were quick ship times too! FYI
