Bought my next project today - couple of pics
« on: January 18, 2008 - 06:28:35 PM »
I bought my next project today. I should have my head examined as I am killing myself to finish my Cuda before Carlisle and I am already thinking about what is next. Must be that mopar sickness.  :screwy: It is a 1970 Roadrunner. I had been looking for a 1970 GTX body for a while but decided that this would have to do. No motor or transmission but that is ok with me as I will likely protour it anyway. I have never owned a B-body before but thought this would be fun after my Cuda project. The car should be delivered in a few weeks. The guy also has a 71 Barracuda that I am trying to talk him out of but he is not sure his wife will let him sell it - seems to be the opposite problem that most guys have. Anyway, here are a couple of pics. Would love to hear from any other RR owners out there....

I understand about what you are going through.  I am getting my Cuda delivered tonight and can hardly wait to get it.  I have had several 1970 Road Runners.  I have had several older ones also.  Just like the E-Bodies much better.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

I love the '70 RR/GTX/Satellite.  My dad had a '70 383 4bbl Satelitte in the mid seventies, and my cousin has this one now.  We like to cruise.    :burnout:

That is cool. Are you going back stock? Mine is a factory 383 column auto, vitiman C, Go wing. It now has a 4 speed set up and I will paint in purple (I promised my little girl the next one would be purple) I was planning on building an auto but now I am not sure since this one has the tunnel hump. I have lots of time to figure it out as I have to focus on my Cuda for now.

I think Road Runners and GTX's are my second favorite Mopar.  No offense to the Challenger guys...  :)

Mine has a four speed hump in it now but it`s coming out as I have the matching numbers block and am going very close to a stock resto as my Barracuda is my modified ride. The only changes from stock will be an air grabber hood(coolest option), a slightly lumpier cam,2 1/2 " exhaust(440) and a few period correct aftermarket items such as a tach, chrome slot wheels with M/T`s and under dash 8 track. What interior code is yours?Did you see my post for M2 interiors?Any stock parts you don`t want keep me in mind.  :2thumbs:

I did not pay much attention to the fender tag but will look when I get it and see if it had the M2 option. Can you tell from the picture I posted? I know you can't see much of the interior but I have no idea what to look for. You can take everything I know about B' bodies and put it in a thimble and still have room left over. I will keep you in mind for anything I don't need. The interior will most likely be comming out. I do have a friend in CA looking for a low rise hood if you want to sell yours??

Theres not much left of your seat cover but it looks like the plain M2 style like mine. The seat covers are reproduced but the door panels are not and I need a whole set.  :walkaway: I`m keeping my stock hood and will paint it with the car so I can swap it out if I am in the mood to go original.
