I started a section in the  Member's restoration projects under 6.1 hemi challenger...

Welcome to the site!  Your project looks awesome and will be very cool when it's back on the streets tearing it up!!! :grinyes:  So did you go with a larger cam or keep it to factory specifications?  Either way, I'm sure it'll be a blast to get good gas mileage and have all that power on tap.

the only change to the motor so far is the cam I went with a comp cam for a little more power :burnout:

Welcome to the site. Just a word of advice about mocking up with a 727 and then trying to change to a 5 speed. If you are going to use a Tremec (Kiesler TKO600) or something like that you need to mock the car up with it attached as you will most likely have to cut the tunnel hump. If you are going to use a stock 883 there should be no problem.

Thanks sounds like you have tried that one. I understood the Kiesler to be a no cutting install what gives? What one are you using?

Thanks for all the kind words.
That doesn't look like an Alterkation underneath that 6.1L.

I am using a TKO 600. I did have to cut my tunnel slightly but it really depends on what headers you use. I am using TTI headers and they hang low so you have to move the trans up (and they still hang low) If you are running the stock manifolds you might get away with not cutting the hump. Good luck and keep us posted.
