I graduated in 73 and was making 4 bucks an hr for my day job and 1.65 for my night job.

Man you were rich. I graduated in '73 and was working for a farmer for 1.25 per hour from 7AM to 7PM 6 days a week. I came from a small farming town in South Dakota and there were not many choices as to wher you could work.

I really think I was making 2.25 an hour.  Still at that I did get a car or two.  I had several friends I could get cars cheap from.  You would not believe the deals I got and could have got.  That is how I got to go to college was buying and selling cars.  I would buy at below wholesale and the sell at wholesale prices.  Made some good money doing that. Just wish I would have kept some I got and a lot of the parts I either sold or gave away.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

I gratuated in 74 and worked construction between my junior and senior year of high school and was making $3.25 an hour in Nebraska. Must of been good pay as the farmers I worked for only paid  me $1.00 an hour. Went to trade college after high school and worked for the same construction company after I got my degree and was making $5.25 in 1977. Wish I could go back and have the money to order me 4 1971 Cuda's 2-Hemi's 1-440-6 pack and 1-340. All would be 4-speed billboard cars and loaded with the options I would of wanted.

Sure, we had a better vocabulary back then too. Unlike todays kids and their atrocious lack of grammatical knowledge. Who can forget such gems as "It's a rip-off", "Keep on Trucking", and Groovy. Let us not forget "Dyn-O-Mite" and "What's Happening". Those were the days.

Hey now,

I wear my pants around my waste like you're supposed to.  I have no piercings, I start my sentences with capital letters whether writing a business letter or chatting online.  I used to yell at my sisters when they would send me messages with phrases like "r u there," or "ok i c..."  I'd tell 'em "If you can't type to me like a mature individual don't type to me at all."

And also let's not forget, I own a car from the early 70's.  You could say I'm "livin' it up" as best I can.  :)

In fact, just this past weekend I was talking to my wife - when the 'Cuda's all finished (years from now,) I want to take it across country and cruise Route 66.
