    WOW, I finally have my gas tank back from the welder…  :cooldancing:
    I have a sump in the bottom and in the tank fuel pump. 
    :working:
     Now I just have to run the fuel line.

    I would put a removable trap door above the pump, in the trunk. That will allow you to change the pump without dropping the tank.  I got that Idea from an Eclipse that I had. Under the back seat, it had an inspection plate that could be removed too change the pump out of the tank.

    I need to put something on the inside to prevent rust I think. :feedback:

    Any thoughts on what to use, or should I just run it and worry about it in 3 to 5 years when I replace the pump. 

    The trap is stainless steel but I worry about the plug weld to hold it in place may be a source of rust. :eek4:

    Shelbydogg I don’t know if I want a hole in my trunk... :dunno: I know its common on modern cars and I would  wish I had one if I ever need to change that pump on the road,   :working:   

     but I don’t know.  :feedback:

    Some type of gas tank sealer would not hurt. Especially up high around the welds that won't always be submerged in fuel. I use a kit from eastwoods, but any brand works about as well as the other. http://www.eastwoodco.com/jump.jsp?itemID=382&itemType=PRODUCT
    I would not worry about the trap door for your setup. A mega high horspower boosted setup might need a pump every 3 or 4 years, but 400 horsepower and 45 PSI will let a good pump live a long time. Typical $120 walbro pump will suit you fine.

    The cover can hide under your trunk mat and spare tire. You really don't have to have an inspection plate. The modern pumps don't go out like the older ones. 2 of my cars have the fuel pump mounted on the frame rail inside the right rear wheel well and It's a little noisy when my stereo isn't on.

    If you're worried about lining your tank, any radiator rpair shop, that does gas tanks can coat the inside with a lfetime coating. Look in the yellow pages.

    Are you going returnless fuel with the AEM system? I know you can do it either way with that system. Tank looks great.

    Thanks gkring, I will be running the return line to the factory pickup I mounted the sump so that the old pickup dumps into it also I will be able to use the stock fuel gage.
    I think I will use a traditional regulator instead of the in the filter style also.
    What are your thoughts?

    I also use a return line system but you don't want your return fuel line in the area of the pickup. Cut it short  so it just dupms back into the tank away from the input of the pump.
