Who makes the best AAR hood?
« on: January 21, 2008 - 07:56:48 PM »
I know it's probably been asked before, but who makes the best quality AAR hood, and how much do they run?

Hey Jer,

Do you want a standard AAR hood or a taller scoop sectioned AAR hood  :dunno:

I will have to find the link for you though.

Please find it. I may have clearance issues myself. I kow the hoods with the braces are supposed to be better right? The ones that are OEM correct will bow if I remember correctly.

Below is from the first page of the search function under "AAR hood".
USautobody seems to keep coming up as one of the better ones, but nobody is vouching for any of the manufacturers.
I'd pick a reputation over price as their seems to be a swing from $450-$600 for the hoods, but a much bigger swing in the quality. The time spent to make one fit right will outrun the $200 savings pretty quickly.

Their prices look pretty reasonable. Has anyone ever used any of their products? They have a shaker hood setup and it looks like you can get the hood, bubble, baseplate, etc for around $1000, so I was thinking maybe that would be the way to go, if the stuff is any good.
