Last set of parts for my challenger, a list
« on: January 22, 2008 - 03:58:04 AM »
Time to spend those hard earned savings!

I'm using an overseas shipper who is located at SC to ship stuff in container to Finland. Possible payment methods for me are Paypal (credit cards are also possible). On bigger purchases I might be able to ask my shipper to pay the items via US wire transfer.

These are the last items I'm still missing from my project (I will probably update few items into this later on) and any help is appreciated. So make offers. I will need to organize the shipping of the items so that they arrive about at the same time to my shipper and he can put all the items in the same container (he ships once/twice per week).

Ok, the list. (The car is 73 Challenger)

1.  Front door panels, not chalky, any color.
2.  Front valance
3.  Transmission mount, automatic
4.  Slapstick top plate (the one with the light bulb socket)
5.  Passenger side backup light lense
6.  Trunk lock (broke the lever from mine during repairs)
7.  Top fender turn signal (the small one on top of the fender)
8.  BB AC parts (all missing from the engine bay)
9.  One front armrest pad
10. Challenger quarter panel emblem
11. BB alternator brackets with AC.
12. Black finned BB valve covers (mopar performance?)
13. Heater motor switch for AC car, mine has burned/melted.

These I'm probably going to need to buy as new, but if someone has leftover items from restorations, feel free to offer.

11. Gas tank
12. Gas sending unit (3/8)
13. Suregrip rear unit (489 case)
17. Shifter t-handle
18. Repro bumbers (maybe)
19. Paint gasket set
20. Aluminum Radiator
21. HD Leaf Springs

The 73 trunk lock is different than the 70.  I should have a chance to do some digging today.

Can anyone say how much difference there are in the locks? Mine broke from the attaching point of that small couple of inches long lever which moves the actual latch. I might be able to fix mine but it could be wasted time. Thanks for your efforts Challenger6pak and for Al also, that price is pretty hard to beat  :grinyes: .

Anyone know if the decent cond original door panels are running out? I've been looking through different boards and haven't seen many for sale lately.

I have a 3.55 SG 489 unit complete axle to axle minus brakes hardware. Gears look good and the SG takes all of your strength to break the wheel away when one is raised off the ground. I want to sell the whole unit not just the pumpkin - $550. Trouble is this is in Canada. I can deliver to Montana and ship from there if need be. I also have a gas tank for free. Reason is that I replaced it simply because I could not trust that it is rust free so I bought new. It does not leak. Let me know.

Sorry it took a little while to dig out the front valance.
Here's a few pics, I can take more in the light tomorrow morning so you can get a better idea of the condition.

She's not 100% rust free, looks to be minimal surface rust around the light holes, but I'm not sure exactly what condition you are looking for.
New one's are going for about $150 to $170 so I'd say $65 would be a fair price in my eyes for an original.
Let me know if your interested

Bumb

Just ordered full set of interior upholstery items. I'm going to order the gas tank & unit probably tomorrow but I'm still needing used items too.

I might take the front valance R/T hedkace but it is somewhat rusty and I'm still open for better ones.

Here's the better pics we talked about.
I sanded down the rust spots real quickly just so you, and I could get a better idea of what's there.
There are a few small dents.
If you are looking for a valance that you can just throw on without doing any work to, this is not it.
If you don't mind a little messaging this is for you.

As for shipping, I was out in Springfield tearing down a boat show for work, and I got stuck there late, so I was not able to get you a shipping quote today. I'll get it tomorrow, if you are still interested
By the way, does anybody know what it would cost roughly to ship a front valance from MA to SC?
 Thanks.

FedEx will be the cheapest on an item like that.  If you can ship to a business address it will cut the rate even more. If you are not used to shipping these things, you need to make the box as small as possible w/o the part being able to be damaged.  This will be an oversized package. On oversized packages I have seen 1 inch raise the cost $30.  You can get the measurement breakdowns at ww.fedex.com so you know what size of a box to build. DHL is supposed to be more inexpensive than other shippers at times.  They are just not near me so I don't have too much experience with them. I would check them also before you ship.

I have the trans mount, it's almost new, I replaced it with a poly mount. I have one Challenger emblem in good shape. Do you need just the top shifter plate or parts from the shifter? I have one I took apart, let me know and I will try to look them up and send pictures, Thanks John
