What about putting your VIN on there and embedding Madeline in it somewhere? E99 for engine code?  Add/delete somethings to make it more evened out, you get my drift...

Have you thought about a second/third tag?  Second/Third tag ideas, all on one tag or whatever...

Good ideas and I like what you did 4 lines up. But, I only want 1 tag and was happy to fit them all on the one tag lol. The car came with two tags but I only want one (weight savings) lol - not. Just looks cleaner, it's only minutely cleaner but then again I have OCD and just want one tag filled to the brim. To put Madeline as you have would wipe out 3 options. Thanks for the input though, it is a good idea.

Carl, as barry said, it's a custom tag, so it can be anything you want. I wanted mine to be fairly close to an original, but anybody who knew tags, or had a book would spot the obvious weird codes, besides the "CLONE" in the SO space.

Remember, these tags had only things on them that affected the body build (they are a Body tag) so therefore on yours, the steering stuff, the pedal dressup, etc..would not be on a body tag. Also, colored bumpers are a bumper package (IE A22, A21) and code as an option package.

I had lots of fun watching people read that tag and scratch their heads.
Have fun with it!

 :cheers:

My tag is below, some of the codes I used are

D25 = 5 speed tremec
scheduled prod date = Oct 27 (my birthday)
V01 = monotone paint (not used on e-bodies)
R38 = AM-FM 10 CD changer
Y39 = special order

there are other codes that dont belong also

Thanks mate, good info and input. :cheers: I never realise you couldn't have the small codes on the tag.
Cool, learnt something new! I will take them off, that will give me some room and space. Nice tag too mate.

Hey Carl,

I was going to get a tag done for my brothers 71 Gran Coupe and posted up on Mopart when i was over their.  I posted that i was going to put 999 Special paint and do it Petty Blue and got told that 999 was Silver for E-body 71, you could ask Barry Washington to confirm, but that is what i was told. :dunno:

Hopefully Barry can confirm it. Going off that link in my previous reply it doesn't look that way. :dunno:
As I said, you'd think if it were "silver only" it would have just been "999 = Special Silver" or something.....

999 is special order paint...can be any non-stock color for that year and body

I've seen other cars with the 999 paint code, like a 71 charger that was panther pink with the 999 code

Thanks Larry, makes sense.  :thumbsup:

Customer comes in, wants his own colour, no worries, buyer picks the colour, they stamp it 999.

By the way, did all Hemi cars have that second tag like yours does? Or is that just something you had made?

1970 e-bodies only. With the F60-15 front tires that were standard on the hemi cars, they found that the tires would rub the fenders, so they had to roll the edge up on the assembly line. Made an adjustment in model year 71, so no extra tag needed. The tag was there to tell the line workers it needed the rolled edge fenders.

Larry, I just checked Galens book and A22 is elastomeric bumpers front/rear for 71. In 1970 the package would have suited; coloured racing mirrors and front & rear coloured bumpers. What do you reckon I should do? I guess having M73 down as a single option on the tag is correct then if it was single order option (not in a package), yes? I also removed all the interior items. After I've had these minor items confirmed I can email it through to April and she can get on with ordering it for me. Is there anything else you can spot below that shouldn't be there or is wrong? (Obviously not the custom lines lol).

Cheers,
Carl

between XVS and end you could add "26" for the 26 inch radiator.  All the other codes are basicly legit for 70 or 71. Just go with what you like, i would not get too caught up in how "legit" the tag is with all the other non-stock stuff you have on there. looks like she's going to be a nice car.

Thanks mate, I would have put 26" but I believe mine is a little bigger (Aluminium Griffin).
I'll double check, if it's 26" I'll put that in, if it's something else I'll just put that number.

Cool! I can get it orderd now.  :cheers:

Just checked my parts list and I'll be running a 26" Griffin aluminium radiator (painted black w/extra cooling).
So, I put 26" in it's rightful place. Now, I think I'm good to go. Thanks everyone for your help. :worshippy
