Hi Guys,

I jump on here a tiny little bit and when i do i like jumping onto a persons profile when chatting to see their age and location so you get a general feel for a person. :angelwings:

But the most frustrating thing of all is when someone has something for sale and you look up their location to see how far away the item is for shipping geusstamations :pullinghair: hello, wonder where in the world they are posting from.  Been a lot of newbies that have not jumped back on to answer their posts either.

Can we change it or do some people have something to hide :clueless:

I think April covered the problem with location and contact info in the Cars For Sale section pretty well, and that should not be a problem anymore.  As for others, I think it is just personal preference as to how much personal information they want to share on the forum.  Some may loosen up a bit after they have been here a while and share more info.....     :2thumbs:    :bigshades:

I can relate with this - a member offered a part for sale recently, and I couldn't tell where they were from.  I was glad that I could at least review their resent posts to try to determine some history on them.

Can't we at least put in a drop down menu for State that has to be filled?

Exactly
For some it may be no big deal, but to others it might just take some time to feel at home, and get to know a lot of folks here first.

If you want to know my age, you will have to cut me in half and count the rings.   :smilielol:  :smilielol:

I agree Oldschool, some people just don't feel comfortable giving out too much info.  I have been keeping a close eye on the classified section to be sure the location, price, and contact info is included in all posts.  Hopefully it will work out well, and if anyone sees something missing in a classified ad before I do you can PM me about it and I'll fix the problem.

I don't like people knowing I am 31 and from NY either, lol.
