Sport hood or Shaker/ day2 or original ?
« on: January 22, 2008 - 12:18:19 PM »
My fender tag shows that my Cuda came with a sport hood, but I like the looks of a shaker.  It also has a 6 pack intake which is not orig. Should I go back to 4 bbl, or keep it a 6 pack ? I also like a day2 look and prefer Am Racing TT's over Rallyes and headers over manifolds.
It has the orig 340 & rear end, but non orig trans. I value your opinions, so how 'bout a few suggestions as to which way to proceed?

If numbers matching is your thing and all that stuff go for it. :cooldancing:

If you whant to drive a sixpack with a shacker all the better. :burnout:

I would have to agree and build what looks really good in your eyes.  Build something you want to keep and that looks really good.   :2cents:

If you are a purist then put it back if not go with the 6 pack.  I myself would tend to keep the 6 pack.  I really like them!!!!

My 70 Cuda has the bulge sport hood but I really want to put a shaker hood on it. I would go with what you like or you will wish you had later as I restored my 70 Cuda back to stock and wish it had headers and a shaker hood now.

:iagree:  Like the others have said, make it so you will enjoy it the most.  Just keep it all bolt ons and save the original stuff so you can always bring it back to stock and have the best of both worlds.

Thanks for the input. Shaker/6 pack/headers... that's the direction I'll take it.

Hey guys, I knew what I wanted to do, It's just that I anticipated the most would tell me to go back original.
Also,  what's better... a repop hood from an aftermarket supplier, or to modify the flat hood I have?

If the repo is of good quality..... The hood you save could be your own...
i belive there are more qualified people on this foum than me however. :pullinghair:
Good luck!
