Did Anyone Else See The Top Story for Jan. 23rd?

I saw the news at the local sports bar and couldn't really believe what I saw...

It's something how people in showbiz tend to handle their problems so differently than the rest of us.  I liked a couple of his movies with probably my favorite being "A Knights Tale", but it's a shame he overdosed and left a young daughter behind.  I wonder how long it'll take to be reading the same news on Britney Spears...The rate she's going she won't last too much longer, either.

I heard about it on Tuesday.  Seemed like a good actor, but I was never a fan.

Oh, I hadn't realized it occurred earlier. :misbehaving:  Based on the coverage seen on CNN, I would've figured it happened just yesterday.

It is a real shame.  Early indications look like it was an accidental overdose.  Apparently he had a sleep disorder and had 6 prescription drugs to deal with it.  He was found in bed but it did not look like there were any drugs in his immediate vicinity.

Based on the amount of news coverage, you'd have thought Kennedy was shot again.  Shows you where the media's priorities are in this country.

Crack head? that was Whitney Houston.

I think the show biz people live a stressful lifestyle as far as the paparazzi's always tailing them.
How would you like it if you were followed even to the toilet with somebody taking pics of you?
OK, that may be an exageration. but you get the point.

It would make you go insane after awhile.

It is very stressful.  I have a close friend that is big in the business.  He calls it golden handcuffs.  He has contracts that say he can't shave his beard or change his hairstyle.  He can't go drag racing or snow skiing or do anything that is deemed dangerous. He and his wife can only drive and own certain types of vehicles for image sake. He is a comodity and his managers and contract owners don't want him damaged.  He goes where they want him to and when they want him to.  It gets old after awhile.  Good managers and contract owners try not to burn out their people.  Everyone has limits.  In the business they are in they subject themselves to alot of stress.

Seems like every news channel has been running specials about him since it happened. I mean really!, It's not like he was Mel Gibson or Clint Eastwood. Sheeeeesh!

I get what you're saying, but they all chose that lifestyle, and the paparazzi tail comes with the territory, overdosing is not the way to deal with that, but seems most of them leave this world in that manner, wouldn't you agree?

plus there are more important news happening every second ,and yet media choose to feed us with this Hollywood garbage, do they show poor black  Christian victims of radical Muslims in Africa that get slaughtered everyday?no,they would run live coverage of Britney Spears going to court,or Paris Hilton going to jail,e.t.c.
