Thinking of converting to a Shaker!
« on: January 26, 2008 - 05:08:18 PM »
will i simply be able to buy a hood and kit and go to town? what will i need to look for? are there any cable or crazy attachments? And, what type of spacing will there be, i have a cast iron 70 340 intake with a. Edelbrock (same as Carter) i assume i will have to lose the carb spacer depending on the final height??

 :feedback:

thanks!

I saw a sale on ebay for 899 on the shaker hoods out of oregon. A kit would cost around 2400 on top of the cost of the hood :2thumbs:

I just got my repro Shaker hood in person after shipping out from LA. It's an awesome piece but unluckily for me, mine received a dent in transit. Nothing major but it sucks as there isn't much you can do. The hoods are well made and of good quality but I think there are a couple of minor items that aren't "100% correct". However, only a handful will notice it, like Galen, Barry and Scott Harms lol. Being as mine is a custom car correctness is of no concern, only quality and I have to say this hood is of good quality. I got my hood off a member here (forgot his user name) but their business is; www.rosevillemoparts.com best of luck, Shakers are awesome.

I'll have too have a think of who zed guy was as it has been a couple of years now, but it may be in my E-bay stuff.  I will check.  Custom badges that look factory are the crowning glory to any good mild custom :2thumbs:

Is it a 408-Magnum or are you going six pack on the 408 at a later date. :2thumbs:

Hey David,

Thanks mate, we'll see how bad it is when we get closer to that stage. We had a good look but nothing that was officially "yes" we can use it or "no" we can't. If it's better to buy one I will get one from you and you can pack it like it's going to get bombed. No worries either, if I thought it were you that did it you'd be the first to know unfortunately it's just one of those things that neither the shipper or buyer has control of. Next time, if I do get a hood, it will need to have foam inside the box and perhaps more protection around it. Guys in the boat careless, I've had 2 out of 2 cars damaged recently too.....f#%ken dropkicks!

Cheers Dave.
