Why I am here anyway.
« on: January 27, 2008 - 01:49:38 PM »
I thought my 1000th post should have some meaning. It is the reason we are all here, its about the cars and our love for them.
It all started with the first car for me. Not an e-body, but a Dodge Charger. But that started the love of the Mopars for me. After a few Chargers, I got my hands on a 71 Challenger. It was blue and very nice. The problem was the frame rail rusted in front and the k-member was smashed into the frame rail. I had the frame rails from another car and was going to repair it. Then ran out of time and money and had to get rid of it. But I was hooked on the Challengers by then and would have another real soon.

Now looking back at just the past few years, I know it is the cars and now the people here that love the cars the same as me that sometimes keep me going.

Whats your story? Why are you here?

Dave

"I am a car guy.  Yes, I have an addiction with sleek, masculine cars with plenty of power." :grinyes:  Seriously, I came onto this site originally for opinions on these cars (had a '69 Charger & was redirected here from D-C.com).  Since then, it's just came to be a nice little Internet getaway that's turned into a great group of friends.  From the first day posting here to meeting up with several members between Carlisle '04 & '05, it's always been a comfortable atmosphere and it's always good being able to talk "car-talk" with people who understand. :2thumbs:

I have no life....  :walkaway:

JUST KIDDING!!!!!!

I love this place, I love the group of people here.  Cars can be talked about here and there but there's no other group of people like at C-C.com.  They are a nice, mature (sometimes, but that makes it fun!  ), sympathetic group of people that if you have a problem be it car related or something personal, there is a listening ear.

I remember my first few time posting here, in the "Newbie" section.  Everyone here made me feel very welcome here and will always be thankful for that.

Everyday stresses have there way of getting to me and this is a place I know I can come and enjoy myself, talk cars and other fun stuff.  This place helps me mellow out.

Besides, where else are you going to find soooo much info on E-Bodies?? ???

I am here to learn and share. Seems the other sites have mixed breeds and smirk remarks over 50% of the time and you can never get a straight answer.

I found my Challenger around 12 years ago while searching with my father and drove it for a couple years.....Fast forward....After having it sit in storage for a few years, I decided to get it ready for the HRPT '06.  Shortly after getting back, I was interested in finding information on other upgrades.

I was on moparts looking up information on Goody's Cuda and found this place.  I was not a person to post much (only about 70 posts on moparts), but everyone here was so nice that I kept returning almost everyday.  Also there is so much useful information and the people answered your questions very quickly....and the rest is history.   :2thumbs:

I'm not sure how I even found the link to this site. Maybe at Moparts?  :dunno:

Anyway, at first it was to learn more about all the problems my car had.  :stomp: Then I eventually learned a few things and decided to try to help others here. The humor around here is kinda fun too.  :icon16:  I think one or two people might actually like me.   :woo:   :woohoo:

I came to this because my son found it and thought I would enjoy it.  Been here ever since.  Not as active as I should have been but did some posts about my car.  Sent too many PM's to people but did get a lot of answers.  I did find out that I have a rare fish and should pretty well keep it like it was from the factory.  I enjoy the knowledge base there is here and the sharing of that knowledge freely.  We have a common love of the E-body and Mopars and seems like we are all friends easy with each of us.   :2cents:  Gordon

Ha ha ha.  Yea, i know.  There was a couple years where i stayed away from the internet, got busy.  But now i have a job with down time and access to the web so...  It's on.
That and i don't usually post unless i can contribute something useful, and i'm not nearly as schooled as most here, so i just keep my yap shut.  I can make a fool of myself pretty well in person, don't need to do it on the web too.

I signed up here because I wanted to see some pictures, lol.  I had just gotten my Cuda and was obsessed with looking at other people's E bodies.  After 2 or 3 days of surfing around I saw what an awesome site it was and everyone made me feel so welcome and didn't pick on me because I was a girl, lol.  Then I met MEK and it all went downhill from there...  :poopoke:
