the Schumaker mounts are all poly & steel the deflection would be minute unless it pulls the whole K frame around which is possible , the frame will be repaired & most likely subframes will be installed also
Definatly was & still will be a driver .... not trailered

Hey Neil, how much longer till you guys get that thing fired up? Is he gonna wait till spring to test drive it, or is he just gonna sell it soon as its done.

there is one more oddity with htis car that no one has seen .......
re-inforcing the K frame is Never a bad idea
The car will be fired up in the next 10 days or so jst have to install the rad & fan , clean up some wiring & install the carb & fire it up , oh we are aalso replacing the fuel line with 3/8 & the tank pickup tube as well to make sure this is well fed
Apparantly this car will be kept & not sold at all at least for now , the owner wants to have some fun with this one first

The car has R/T rear dual exhaust valance/cutouts............ on a 340 car? If it was originally a 340 4-speed, then it wasn't a R/T.

Neil, did you point the other thing out to me when I was there that day....  :clueless:

The car is left hand drive I do know that. I remember you telling me something else, but I can't remember.

:iagree:  Acording a very long thread about this, supposedly the smallest engine for a '70 Challenger R/T is a 383.  A 340 wasn't available until '71 in an R/T.

Yeah I noticed the gas cap on the left...

Why was this done????:clueless:  :dunno:  ???

The car from the second pic is left hand drive, in the first pic I think it's just the angle the pic is taken so it looks like it's right hand drive.

the car is not a real R/T , the position of the trunk emblem doesn`t even leave enough room for the R/T badge , I see no reason why the car could not be ordered with R/T twin tips though , I will have to check the fender tag  & look for the N42 code
the other weird thing will be Much harder to find although there is a clear pic of it

I'm not sure but I'll take a guess:

1. Something up with the master cylinder, a conversion?

2. Are the insides of the headers coated also?

3. Very tight space (garage area) to work on such a big car?  :roflsmiley:

it is a 74 master for disc brake , & yes the garage is too smalll , hard enough to find any place warm to work though !!
the headers do have heat barrier  none of this is really unusual though

Well if it is an oddity we are looking for, I FOUND IT!  The car is not in MY garage, now thats odd.

My original thought was the trunk lock, but I found a picture of another challenger so that is now ruled out.

Ok grasping at straws now.  The pic is unclear but the last pic, the steering knuckle looks odd, perhaps it is just the angle?  :clueless:

How about the 2nd pic?  What is that black thing bottom left corner.  Isn't the washer bottle mounted there?  It kind of looks like a horn, but  :dunno:

Thanks for posting the pics, much appreciated!

I'm going to be dropping a 472 Hemi in my Cuda and was researching the modification required to the shock tower to avoid clearance issues with tall valve covers since I plan on some Stage V or similar covers.

I am using an OE style Hemi K member, so my engine should sit a bit further away from the right shock tower, since the Schumachers raise the left side of the engine approx .5 to 1".
I'm also guessing the right torsion bar is closer to the header becuae the engine is slightly tilted to the right. I was planning o installing some 1" Torsion bars, looks like enough room?

Thanks again for sharing...

Her's a pic of how the shock tower modified should look like...

the Schumaker mounts have the engine sitting dead level
I see no problems with 1" bars
