    Horrible news saw it on the television

    It's things like this where you just have to give yourself a shake no matter how the life is and say "things are not so bad for me" really puts life into perspective

    I can't imagine the pain to lose one child much less two

    God bless the family gonna be real hard for the little sis

    I have personally met Doug Herbert on two separate occasions.  He has always been open and friendly with his fans and he is a very intense competitor.
    My heart goes out to him and his family.  This is going to be a difficult time for all those involved.

    This is sad to hear. Prayers to his family.
    Doug will no doubt be very hard on himself asking himself what could he have done different to teach his son to drive in a safer manner. I'm sure he tried to discipline them to be more defensive and safe of a driver. But teenagers know everything and it's a difficult time in their lives to listen to their elders.

      My thoughts are with the family. I was in Cornelius sunday visiting my best friend from my days growing up in Brooklyn, Tony; we drove by the accident site which had been cleared of all signs save for the spray paint lines showing the paths of involved vehicles. Very sobering...
