Death to the "Smileys" (ONLY those on the message entry page thankyouverymuch)

From time to time I have to use an older/slower computer.  It would be nice (read that bloody wonderful and brilliant) to get rid of all those bouncing, wagging, blinking, CPU sucking smileys on the message entry and reply pages.  The poor old computer gets 20-30 seconds behind echoing characters because of all the extraneous graphics caca on the screen.  Resizing to put all those things off the top is the only way to work efficiently.

I didn't see anything in account options.

If you are going to declare war on the smilies, you will need some equipment. Start with this model perhaps;
