Whats wrong with smileys?

They're always dancing ,eating popcorn, typing, clapping, playing violin and drinking beer.
And they do this 24/7 365 days a year.

I'd like to see you do all that and never rest.

Sheesh!  Read the first post, don't just assume.  No smiley hate, no killing smileys, just a wish you could turn them off in the topic posting window itself above the text entry field.  Not in the posted messages, not anywhere else.  Just a little control in user profile for each person's own individual preferences.

I admit my subject left this thread far too open to the spin its taken, but really... read the first message!

Hey bud, we didn't "assume" anything.
You are the one who labeled this post "DEATH" to smileys, not "wish you could turn them off in the topic smileys"  :poopoke:

No smiley hate, no killing smileys,
:clueless:
I don't know what the definition of "death" is in your dictionary, but in mine, it's not good.  :grinno:

 By the way,
I tried to take everything you said out of context.......how did I do  :smilielol:

Your response is fully adequate in that regard  ; )
