Pic request - Any year Hemi Orange Challenger without stripes
« on: January 28, 2008 - 07:12:13 PM »
Okay, I am currently having my '73 prepared for paint, which will be Hemi Orange.  It was sort of that color prior to the repaint, and had the thin R/T body stripe, minus the "R/T" letters.  I have posted a picture below.  I am toying with the idea of not putting the stripe back on when it is done, and would just like to see if anyone out there has one without the stripe.  I most likely will go with the stripe, but am just curious what it might look like.

And i forgot to mention that it is not Hemi Orange but looks to be some custom mix of Orange.

Thanks, guys.  I'm keeping the spoiler, because with all that orange I figure I need something to counter it, just not sure if I need the stripe or not.

My car is certainly a 'work in progress', but I think you can get an idea of what it looks like.  My '70 is EV2, and I put the bumblebee stripe on it, rather than the side stripe.  They do lose some definition without the side stripe, but some colors (like Hemi Orange) look good without the stripe, IMHO.

Good luck to you.  It will look good whatever way you configure it!

Edit: I just realized that my pictures here look reddish, because it was overcast when I took them.  The actual color is identical to the pictures posted by 72challengerorange, above.  I wouldn't worry about too much orange.  Some colors (like the original gold on my car) need something to break it up, but EV2 is great alone.

My  :2cents: - I think it looks better without the stripe.  I think I might like a hockey stick on the back (or is that just a Cuda thing?)  The way that full stripe down the middle accents the body line and breaks the car in half doesn't work so well for me, although it looks like the resolution of the photo is a little low and makes the stripe look broken.  Mine is Hemi Orange (well, it will be again) and I love the orange flanks.

Isn't that orange in HemiKen's post GoMango?  Looks awfully close...

That Challenger i posted is not Go-Mango, it looks to be a bit too pastel to be Go-Mango.

What about a custom stripe that is the same as the T/A stripe but without the T/A cutout. :dunno: This would personalize it and look real neat with keeping the roof Orange aswell. :2thumbs:
