I hate to be the stick in the mud here, but you better stop what you are doing, and get a legal title for the car if your state requires one. Otherwise, a lot of things could happen that you won't like. Suppose the car turns out to be stolen, or salvaged. It could be impounded by the police, or the original owner could have the right to get it back. All the hard work and money you put into it will be lost. I can't stress this enough. If you are not the legal owner of the car according to your state laws, don't spend any money on it. I realize you are young, and for that reason, you may not realize what could happen, and you need the benefit of our experience. Don't take the attitude that you'll worry about getting it registered when the car is done and you are ready to drive it. If something is not right, it is better to lose the initial investment, than to lose ten or twenty times that amount.
How about it guys? We not only have to encourage the young guys, we have to help protect them as well.
