    You guys are definetley right, I didn't even think of it that way.  I actually bought the car from a guy named Shawn who is actually on the board here as shawnmid.  I'm going to fax him a bill of sale monday, because the bill of sale he said he put in the car when it was shipped never arrived here.  Once he gets the bill of sale faxed back to me, I'll see if the VIN is on file or something and if not then get a salvage title.  Don't worry bout being a stickler, thats exactly what I need on this project! Thanks for the suggestion I'll get right on it

    Try to stay away from a salvage title except as a very last resort. It will reduce the value of your car, and a lot of people won't buy a car with a salvage title if you ever decide ti sell it.

    The update for today is the car going off to the blaster and at the blaster.  This was towards the end of december and it took the blaster about a week to do.  I had him put it in a self etching primer so it wouldn't start to flash rust again. Enjoy!

    Please keep the pics comming!!  I know in my state it's easy to get a new title. You just go to the DMV and get the paper work, fill it out and get ahold of the Highway Patrol and they will come and inspect the car and check the paperwork and if all checks out sighn off and you go back to the DMV and send in for the title. You should check into it at your local DMV.

    I wouldn't wait too long either, to get your paperwork started for the title. I had a heck of a time last summer getting mine retitled from OR. to Washington. They screwd up on the Vin. at the Dmv and had the last 2 numbers switched. I had to jump through about 20 hoops to get that fixed. And the thing i learned is if you p!ss someone off at Dmv. They can make your life real miserable and stall things permanently. So i would get after it ASAP. Great pics, keep them coming.

    And on the other side, in my state (PA), unless both people are present (with identification) to sign the title, you will never get the car registered. Only exception, is if you have a signed title, and a notarized letter stating that the title was signed by the seller in the notaries presence. Hope yours isn't that tough.

    Alright so I took everyone's advice and got started on the paperwork for the title.  I'll let you guys know how thats going and appreciate your feedback.  This post is the challenger comin back from the blaster and in a self etching primer to prevent flash rusting.  Good stuff.

    Good to see it home, it is pretty solid with the usual rust where you would expect to find it.  New panels will sort this out easily.   Remember to do piece by piece when you have them to keep the structural integraty of the car, cut everything out at once and you could find yourself chasing your tail trying to straighten everything back up.
