The blaster was kinda hefty. To blast the entire car, including doors, fenders, valences, etc he wanted about 1600. Then the primer cost about 400 so the total came to about 2000 grand. I may have overpaid but he does good work and the turn around was great, with pick up and drop off.

Well me and my dad filled out the bill of sale together then faxed AND emailed it to Shawnmid or Shawn who owns M&M classics. its been over a month and were still waiting for the bill of sale back from him! Were kinda deadlocked on this right now just to get the bill of sale back.

You and your Dad should get all over him. As I understand from his posts he redoes cars and deals in them. Every state has laws that pertain to dealers. I do not know of a state that would allow the transfer of ownership w/o paperwork from a dealer or individual. I'm not saying Shawn is a bad person either. In case there is a lean or something on this car you need to have paperwork before you do any more to the car. Anything you do the car w/o paperwork is a risk. You could loose the car. You never know.

Two examples from two different directions.

I sold a 73 Challenger. I put the new owners name on the title. The car was not sold with an open title. In FL. all the new owner has to do is to take the title to DMV and title the car in their name. Instead of doing this the new owner sold the car to someone else. This someone else left the car without a license tag in an area where it could and was towed. The police looked up the VIN and called the person who the car was registered to. That was still me. I paid the impound fee and drove the car for 3 more years.

I bought a 73 Challenger from a dealer. The dealer handed me an open title. It was not properly reassigned by a dealer on the back of the title. I accepted it and should not have. I did not know that the dealer traded a lemon of a car for the Challenger. The previous owner wanted the Challenger back. Since the dealer had not done the proper paperwork on the title the previous owner told the police the Challenger was stolen. Now I am sitting on a car that is supposedly stolen. I had a signed title in my hand. With it I was able to go to the previous owner and get the "stolen" dropped and the title transferred to me. I was able to convince the previous owner due to the fact he had made a false stolen report that he didn't want the police to act upon.

There are many other scenarios that can happen.

As far as your state is concerned, you are building a car for the person who the car is titled to. You have no proof of ownership.

For your sake do the paperwork. You have a great start on what is going to be an awesome car. Do the whole project right including the paperwork.

P.S. I now have a phobia about 73 Challengers.

Before you put your Mid Floors in look at my post under the body section of the forum...Very Important. The seatbellt hole loaction is incorrect on the Goodmark piece if you are using goodmark products.

Like Russ pointed out you can move the welded seatbelt nut 2" to the front or cut and weld like I did.Just make sure you check your new floor to your old floor to see any difference. Keep up the good work.

Thanks for everyones replys about gettin the title done, I'm tryin hard to reach Sean but I can't get any response. I think I'm gonna do it Shawshank Redemption style where I send him an email every day till I get the bill of sale back and signed. Once that happens I am looking at Alabama title company for a new title. Anyone have any experience?

Thanks Chuck and Russ for the replys on the rear footwells. I feel like I don't want to cut up a brand new piece of metal. How bad would it look if they remained the way they are? I'm afraid I might mess it up to be honest.

This update is some of my horrible plug welds for the floor. Luckily they will grind down since I tended to overfill them a bit. I started welding the side seams to the body today and had a really hard time getting the welds to stick to the body and the floor. I think I'm gonna try getting a better ground and upping the voltage a bit.

With the front floor basically in, I decided to move onto the rear seat and managed to get it out in one piece. I noticed the brace on the passenger side was rotted, so I ordered a new one and it should get here soon. I finished sanding down the tops and will paint the inner frames soon...

My one big concern is the frame rails. They have some serious holes in them and I have no idea how I'm gonna fix it. I don't wanna do the whole rail and I dont think I can make a good enough bend to fabricate the areas. Any ideas, I'm kinda stuck on this one. I dont wanna put the seat in either till there fixed.
