Hi Mike, I don't remember if you used the 1" or th 1.5" relocation kit from Dr. Diff.    But I was thinking it was the 1.5".   Do you think you could fit the same tire on the rear with the 1" kit?

Thanks,
Chris

I used the 1.5 kit and still had to run a spacer. I could have avoided that by going with a custom BS wheel but I was on a budget and wante to make the stock BS wheel work. Its still close and I need to trim more back fender lip.

I need to revisit this, will try this out, thanks CP!

hey goody... question for ya.... it seems as though most people are going with 17' and i know your running 18's.. I originally wanted 20's but after you recommended not doing so without any airbags or other suspension mods i decided against. I have a stock 72 chally....... but i want to put a wide tire on an 18.... what is the max tire size ,backspace, I can use on an 18 setup...I figured since you already have them you know if a bigger tire can go under with doing any mods..... i have been reading on here but alot of posts just say part of tire size or it has the whole thing but doesnt specify whther they did any mods.... since i am new to the game it is better for me to take someones advice rather than play hit and miss with my lil wallet........ thanks alot (ps anyone with comments please reply I addressed it to him cuz he is the only person i know is running 18's)

Believe it or not a friend of mine is working on a 71 Cuda, and he just put 295/45-18s on the rear, with no rubbing.  there is actually about 1/2" clearance on both sides, with the stock suspension.

I'll have to see if I can get any more info.  I'm out of town for the week and the car might be gone by the time I get back.

I believe it's all posted a  wheel and tire thread if you search. i dont have 18s up front because 18" american racing torque thrusts have smaller center hubs than the 17s. So I'd have to mill the 18s to even bolt onto the car. i have 255/45/ZR17s up front and 295/45/ZR 18s in the rear. 17x8 with 4.5bs up front and 18x9 with 5.9 bs and 7/16" spacers, oh and 3" lug studs to make up for the thick aluminum wheel and spacers.

i ended up going to your website and checking out your specs.... those particular wheels wont allow 18's up front however other wheels might bolt on.... right ?

I believe he also has super stock springs which helps some. I'm running a 255/45/18 on a 18x8 w/ 4.5 backspace. I have a lot of room towards the springs though.

Thats correct, you would need a lower profile tire to ge 18's to fit, but they will certainly fit with no problem.  I'm looking at 315/35/18 to go on the back of my challenger.  I have the 1.5" spring relocation kit from Dr. Diff.

295/40/18s will fit fine as well.

check out this link to see what will fit.  http://www.rims-n-tires.com/rt_specs.jsp

I also have 1" lowering blocks, and can go lower without clearance problems. its not much higher, if any than stock in the rear...

I'd be interested in seeing the photos also. I'm in the process of making final decisions on tire and wheel combinations for my car. I really like the wheel/tire choice and stance of the Cuda in your avatar photo -- it appears as though your car is lowered. If it is, did you simply adjust the torsion bars on the front to get it down to where you wanted, or did you happen to go with mopar dropped spindles?
