sweet deal on ultimate rides dashpads
« on: February 02, 2008 - 11:39:45 PM »
Looks like a good deal on dashpads from ultimate rides. I'm putting in for one of each for the challenger and barracuda.
The info below is pasted from moparts.org. From previous posts it seems like the delivery times are lacking, but the quality is the best out there.
Sorry if this is posted elsewhere, but I didn't see it and wanted to pass it along.

Great price!  I was hesitating on buying a dash pad because of limited funds for my rebuild, but it's too good to pass up.

Hi Everyone, I am the guy running the Group buy for th 70-74 E Body Dash Pads and I am also running the 71-74 B Body Dash Pad group buy. I am sorry I didn't post the buy here, frankly, I didn't know about this site until one of the Gregs emailed me his interest in purchasing a dash pad.

The info posted is correct, here is a copy of it with some additional information you may want to know.

***Group Buy Price $495.00 + Core + Shipping - pad Color: Black
***Group Buy Price $560.00 + Core + Shipping - pad Color: Colored

***Group Buy Price $541.00 + Core + Shipping - pad Color: Colored

1971-74 Barracuda & Challenger Dash pad

Question: Steel frame or Fiberglass

Answer: Yes there are steel frames, Ultimate rides will only use ORIGINAL steel frames for there pads in this Group Buy, that is why there is a core charge, they want your old cores and any extras that you have laying around.

Question: Is the grain is correct.

Answer: "No company produces the correct concourse grain, not even Just Dashes or any other manufacture", but he can say that "Ultimate Rides grain is as good if not better than the other manufactures".......

Question: Core cost is what?
Answer: $95.00 and Ultimate Rides will pick up the cost to ship the core from you back to them.

Also he says that if you have a core to ship back, he offers 2 ways to do it.
1. The best way to ship them is to you wrap the core in (1) heavy plastic, (2) bubble-wrap or you can even use (3) heavy shipping paper and use the Post Office to send them back and you will get your core charge back with the Post Office cost to ship.
2. Use the same box the new Dash pad came in and you will need to call the Ultimate Rides direct and tell them you have a core to ship and they will send you a label for pick up and they will schedule FedEx or whomever they use to come and pick it up, just leave it at the door or on the porch or even at the office where you work.

Question: What if I have more than 1 core, can I send it in for a discount?

Answer: Yes you can, you will receive an additional $65.00 for every core you send to them, and remember, Ultimate Rides will pick up the cost to ship the core from you back to them.

Question: What is the shipping cost for the new dash pad?

Answer: $55.00 shipped to the lower 48 states

If you want to join the group buy please do the following
email me the following information

Name
billing address
shipping address
phone number
Cuda or Challenger pad needed
year of car
speakers how many
do you have A/C
Color of Pad needed
Cuda-Challenger Forum Name
have or do not have a core

and let me know a good day or evening to call you on the phone,

I hope I was able to answer any of the questions you might have had......

WOW!!!!!!

Stop train and let me off!  Right now!

I just bought what I think is one off of E-bay.  I was told I was buying an "original" from a 71 Cuda.  I can not see my original dash as some bonehead in the past has recovered the original.  I will take some pictures the one I bought on my lunch and post them.  I will try to take ones that I think draw attention to a “repop”.  If someone can tell me this is the best I can get, then the issue goes to false advertising.

I am confused at what you said, did you buy a pad from Ultimate rides or did you buy it from someone else on ebay, what is the sellers name from ebay?
What did you pay for it on Ebay?
Was it advertised as an Original?

No, I did not buy an Ultimate Rides.  I was buying an original ("Mint") off E-bay as advertised.  A case of false advertising!  I am giving the E-bay name a chance to correct the problem.  I could not find an Ultimate Rides website.  Do you have any pics?  As I am trying to get off of my second train going no where, I want to ensure I am getting on the correct train for the last time.

You asked for pictures, at this time I have the 71-74 B Body Dash Pad here but no E Body pad.
I just sent the manufacture an email to send me some pictures or a pad and as soon as I get them I will post them here.

thanks, AZ-Nick
