    73 Cuda restoration.

    Last Saturday 1/26 (And before I knew my company was closing its doors for good), I took my Cuda to the body shop for its restoration. Here is the car tht I took down.

    I went down today to deliver some replacement metal that I ordered. IT HAS BEEN 1 WEEK! The car has been disassembled, all of the paint has been removed, the new trunk pan is in, the pass quarter has been welded in, the c-pillars have been patched, and the roof skin has been removed.

    In addition, the hood, doors, front fenders, trunk, and valance panels have all had the paint removed, metal work done, and have been primered.

    Found out that all of my floors are completely solid, except for the drivers floor pan.

    This guy is absolutely amazing. He has a crew of around 8 guys, and they are devoting all of their time to the project. BTW, the entire outside of the car was sand blasted as well. He is telling me that it will be primered, painted, reassembled, and ready to go by next Saturday, 02/09.

    That's a total of 2 weeks! Although it's not a nut and bolt rotisserie restoration, I think that the time frame is absolutely incredible.

    Hope they didnt sandblast it though, I hope they used some other type of media, you might have gotten some nasty waves.

    They said the guy they take them to has been doing it for 20+ years. He uses various media.

    The car is going to stay red, but not the factory FE5 red.

    When I get the car back, it will be the assembled shell. I still have to put everything back in it, get the motor done, etc. If I don't find another job right away, I'll have a lot of time to devote to it. The only thing that intimidates me is the dash. I may try and hire someone to do that. When the time comes, I'll probably be asking for photos of engine bays, just to have a guide as to what everything should look like.

    Not really. We talked about it, and he said just to let him know about a month in advance, and he would work it in.
