    I am curently restoing my 70 Challenger and I really want to strip to shell, however I am worried that I won't remember how all the parts bolt up. does Mopar have an assembly boook that I can use to help me put my car back together.   Let's Go Giants!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I don't believe Chrysler ever published an assembly manual for these cars.  I searched for one a while back and found a place that sells assembly manuals and they indicated we Mopar guys are out of luck  :crying:  The Service Manuals are readily available and they are of some help.  Suggest you take alot of pictures and notes  :grinyes:

    Once you take the pics, copy them to disc and you could print them out and keep them in a folder for later references. :2thumbs:

    I have never seen an assembly manual for mopars of any kind.

    Your best bet is to take alot of photos.  Baggies and a sharpie should keep the small parts together and labeled to where they go.  If you can't remember how it goes later, just ask here.  Some of these guys could assemble an E body in their sleep.

    I myself have had to do the e body in a bag routine more then once. Pics, baggies and a marker is a must

    I did a 71 Corvette tear down and can personally state that its easier to take things apart than it is to put them back together :)

    Alot of pictures is key and take a picture of something even if you think "its not gonna be that hard to remember how it goes together."  I had an assembly manual and it can still get very tricky especially a few months down the line.

     I, myself am "restoring", (if that's what you want to call it  :clueless: :bricks1: ) a 1970 Challenger.
    And I have literally taken thousands of pics of everything I have removed so far.
    Every single nut/bolt/clip/stud/line etc..... that can be removed, has been removed.
    If you need a pic of anything, and I mean ANYTHING feel free to let me know.
     That's the closest thing I can come up with as an assembly manual  :thumbsup:
    The actual service manual is also pretty helpful.  :cheers:

    They probably would, I threw note cards into the baggies with notes and drawings some faired better than others.  Lots of grime on those old parts.

    I agree with everyone .....
    As you bag and tag make note frame number on camera & date  taken on bag so as your photos match your parts bags. (digital camera almost a must)

    Also lay out your parts like instructions similar to a model car build with the screws and parts pointing in the direction they go together. Keep a log book by parts and dates so over a long build you have a reference manual as well as a neat piece of history after you’re finished to show your work at shows and stuff.

    I'm also keeping a journal of my work everyday logging problems, parts to buy, rebuild, etc. I'll draw pictures of any confusing items that the pictures won't show well enough like lengths of bolts, types of washers and anything else that comes up. I keep a record of hours/day I've worked on it for reference at the end of the long journey! My wife calls it my diary........

    Don't do what I did...take a bunch of notes and loose them during a move  :crying:  They will probably turn up after the car is back together  :banghead: Do you know what it's like to have to move in the middle of a restoration project? Box hundreds of parts, everything gets disorganized and then loose notes to boot?  I spend alot of time just trying to find parts that were once all organized.  Oh well...it will make rewiring and putting the dash back together more challenging.  I figure if I get stuck, there are a dozen experts here to help out  :2thumbs:
