Six Pack carb spacer help

Ok here we go  a few years back I made up some carb spacers for my six pack out of plywood and they work very well no perculation problem . Now I would like to remake them out of phenolic because the plywood is getting old and I am afraid of them soaking up gas. But the problem is every person I talk about the phenolic board to says that the phenolic will not hold up. So what do they make phenolic carb spacers out of basically I need to know what type of material I can use. Unless someone knows about a company that makes nonmetalic spacers for the sixpack. My cross over under the intake is blocked off and it is a cast iron intake the carb spacers I made make summer time drivability a 100 time better. I hope somebody can clear up my problem

I just have a 4-barrel, but my phenolic spacer(1/2")has held up fine thru 2+ years. It keeps my carb much cooler. After driving, if I touch the fuel bowls, I can feel it's still cool. I'm sorry I don't know what it's made of.

Maybe you could make spacers out of Bakerlite.

Or Promax have six pack spacers but i think they are aluminum.

I can get a peice of phenolic from Mc master-car but they said it will not hold up to being used as a carb spacer so what gives

is it not possible to just seal the wood spacers with a fuel impregniable compound

I guess Iwould not mind coating them in some kind of sealant matbe make a new set for that but what do I seal them with

good ? I need to think on that , not sure what would coat it & not soften with fuel

How about the stuff they make to seal pinholes in gas tanks? Something like this?

You could smear super glue aroung the holes as the fuel does not have an effect on super glue.

I would recess the wodden spacer opening larger than the required opening and then build it up with layers of super glue, let the glue go of and then you could clean up with some sand paper rolls on a die grinder very gently. Thats my

After a lot of searching I think I finally found an answer. It looks like aproduct made by Garolite it is a phenolic but is chemical .heat and flame retardent its called a G10 F/R grade. I hope this helps anyone else out there having the same problem
