So how else can I help?
« on: February 06, 2008 - 07:06:30 PM »
Hey all,

I've already been gearing up for Carlisle 08.  I'm probably a little TOO excited.  It's really not even about the show - it's about seeing people who I had a lot of fun hanging out with last year and can't wait to see again.

So I was wondering what else I could do as a "local" to make the Carlisle experience better for everyone else.

I got our dinner reservation for Saturday night - in fact soon I need to make the poll about whether we're going to do the buffet or have everyone place different orders.

I was going to make an offer to 4Cruizin' to bring the propane grill/stove this year.  I need one anyways, so I figured I could get it in time for Carlisle - be one less thing he needs to carry down - what do you say, Dave?

There's of course the "Parts Wanted" list I'll be making up - I'm really excited to get that going - I think it'll really help the folks who come lookin' for specific parts.

My wife and I REALLY want to host a MO-PARty at our place, but our apartment is just too small to have that many people about, and I don't think we'll have a house in time - not looking good right now.

I'm still limited in transport space to my 'Cuda - no trailer or anything like that (wink to Mike...) but still if there's anything I can help provide, or if you guys want me to store fridge/freezer food during nights, that I can definitely do.

You folks at Cuda-Challenger.com have welcomed me graciously into the fold - the least I can do is offer my fellowship!

Works for me if you feel like it.  :2thumbs:  Make sure you bring enough fuel.   :grinyes:

Well, since I can enjoy the entire Carlisle weekend on a half-tank of gas in the 'Cuda, I have plenty of money left over for propane fuel.  :)

I was going to get a combo grill/stove unit from Coleman.  Of course, following my experience with the Coleman air-mattress, I may keep looking...

Regardless, consider that one item off of your "to bring" list.

Hey hey hey hey!!

I can COOK fella's....

I'm not at all tryin' to take 4C's spotlight or position, but you're talkin' to a guy who produced his own cookbook.  :)  If I was able to host a party for the club, you'd be enjoying my homemade "World Famous Old Man's Chili," beer & onion simmered bratwursts, sautee'd garlic & black angus beef burgers, homemade potato salad...  I'd have the whole block drooling.

If Dave wants to cook Dave can cook, but the only reason I'm looking to buy a portable grill to bring is 'cause the 50,000 BTU stainless steel cabinet grill I have at home won't fit in the back of my E-body.  :)

Actually I was thinking of turning a Chrysler Aspen SUV into a "Monster Garage" tailgate party truck.  :)  Anyone see that episode?

Is there any place at carlisle that everyone goes to cruise?? do they allow burnouts?? what does everyone do after the show is over in the evenings?? I have been there several years to the shows but i live close enough i usually go home that evening. Do most people hang out at the CC tent. The last two years i have found the tent but have not saw many people around there.

Jeff, I just want to say thanks for all you are doing.

A poll for dinner is a great idea. I thought we picked the buffet in another post. But I guess we didn't.  :dunno:

Are you talking about (my) trailer?  :poopoke:
