OK, I got the book in hand!

V88 - stripe delete for Charger 500, Superbird & Daytona
V98 - stripe delete for Challenger, but I'm guessing would only be used on an A66 Chally.

What I was reffering to is at this link;

in the A66 description.   ;)

Thanks for the hint Barry but I must have brain-freeze!  Maybe you could highlight it for me?  :lol:  All I can tell is what I mentioned earlier:

Book states "Bumbklee stripes were not available on base Challengers."

Should state "Bumblee stripes were only available on base Challengers if you ordered the A66 Challenger 340 Performance Package."

I'd also correct the heading inside the box to include the A66 Chally.

BTW the HH library is priceless!  I'm in it all the time!  Thank you!   :cheers:

OK, I'll cough it up.  :wave:

A66 cars came with the Scat Pack Bee stickers in the rear quarter WINDOWS. Read the A66 section to see the mistake they made.  :misbehaving:

As far as the stripes go, an A66 car would not be a base Challenger.

LOL that probably would have been pretty cool. A big bee inside the bumblebee stripe or just a big decal like the superbird had. Too funny. Thats one way to tell Barry knows this infor backwards and forwards and typo'ed lol.
1971 Challenger (OO==== ====OO) getting close!

 :banghead: Ohhhh, I was suppose to be looking for the error in the Data Book!  Not Herd's book!  :pullinghair:

I did read that A66 section a half dozen times and didn't notice it though!  Udaman!  :worshippy

A66 Chally not a base with a package?  I learned something new!   :thumbsup:

'V68" is the code for stripe-delete on a challenger.

The above posts were concerning the 1970 bumblebee stripe.  V98 per white book.   :thumbsup:

Actually I'm pretty sure that it's V98 on an A66 car but V68 on an R/T. I know, old thread, but I came across it in a search.

What i understand is ,R/T Challengers came standard with transverse stripe,V88 was transverse stripe delete R/T, as when V88 used you got bumblebee tail stripe to replace R/T transverse stripe on R/T only,V68 was R/T stripe delete  ticked when you wanted no stripes at all, When either V88 or V68 ticked you got R/T badges on front fenders,Now V98 stripe delete on A66 ordered Challengers as came standard with bumblebee tail stripe and if you didnt want this you ticked V98.hope this helps .cheers Paul

V8_ is tranverse stripe. Transverse means across the tail panel, like on a Duster between the tailights.

Challenger R/Ts have the V6_ stripe (longitudinal) standard, & the Bumble Bee V9_ stripe was a no-cost option.

The stripe delete code for the Challenger RT is V68.

The A66 Challegers came standard with the V9_ stripe. The delete code for it is V98
