Hi, all - I'm gonna be selling my 73 Charger that I've had since 1984. Non-original color ( was B5 blue ), AirGrabber hood, 3.23 SureGrip are what I've changed on it. Pretty much everything is stock. Restored in 1990 - new 1/4's, wheelhouse, trunk lid, doors, new interior, etc. Pretty much everything I could do to this car I did. Column shift,  318, #'s  car, bucket seats, rallye gauges, build sheet. I am considering dropping in either a 383 or 440, and that's my question here. What do you think the car would be worth with a big block in it?

So the deal is number's matching 318, against a possible big-block conversion.   :naughty:

What tranny does it have in it? If it's a 904, it wouldn't be nice to throw a big-block at it. More work for you putting in a 727.  :sadwavey:

In all honesty, I would say minimal gain dropping in a big-block. Just my opinion. Can you tell us the area of price you might want for it as is?

You would probably get about 12k with the SB and 14k with the BB. Also that looks like a standard power bulge, not air grabber.

It's got the 904 in it right now, so I'd need to also get the 727, which I figured. Thing is, I've tried to sell this car previously, and no serious bites on it, I guessed because of the 318 in it. Seems like everyone wants a big block. And yeah, I kinda thought the gains versus expenses for a BB conversion wouldn't justify doing it  ( though if I were keeping the car, I'd probably BB it just for the heck of it ).

Pricewise, I was looking to get in the 12000 - 13000 range, on account of the AirGrabber hood.

Bordin, I know the car pic doesn't show the AirGrabber real well, but lucky I had a shot of just the AirGrabber door, so here it is...

With the air grabber I guess  $13k Sb and $14-15k Bb.
