What do you think
« on: February 09, 2008 - 11:01:31 AM »
I know the -67 Barracuda could be ordered with a racing stripe going from bumper to bumper as the pic of the convert. I believe that with a red car it would have been white or black.

I`ve been tossing with the idea to have a custom made flat red stripe put on my Fastback.
I would like to have a stripe but not a stripe that stands out too much.
What do You guys think, would it ruin the look of the car?
Or maybe useless to put a flat red stripe on a red car?

I think a stripe would look good, but definitely not red on red.  :nono: I have a '68 Barracuda and I like the look of the hood stripe as well as the side stripes on the car. Kinda gives it a meaner look!! I think the '69 had a option with the side stripes. Either would look good, but I would go with a black or white stripe with the red paint!! :2thumbs:

A black stripe would look good, and stand out a little less than a white stripe. I only prefer a white stripe, when the car has a white interior. Just my opinion though.

Flat black on bottom sides, looks good, and not overbearing.

:iagree:

IMO, the only hood/full-body stripes that look good are the dual stripes, such as on this GTX.

 :clapping: Hey Swede,

Go for the Red like you were thinkling buddy, honestly as i got halfway through reading your thread and read Black and White i thought "how boring, red would look good" and then you typed in you were thinking Red.............. wow, ghost stripe, would look unreal.  Subtle but still racey.  I would go with a semi gloss in Red, flat will end up looking to chalky later on. :2thumbs:

Thanks for your inputs guys and gals :2thumbs:
You`ve given me something to think about, I`ll see if I can take a good pic
to Photshop a stripe into.  But I`ll probably need help with that task.

White stripes look great on a red car - the whole point of racing stripes is to stand out :ylsuper:, black is only a half measure that just isn't committed.

I could not agree more.
If you have an opportunity to do something different, I'd say go for it
 Why blend in  :grinno:
Plus the stripe down the hood looks way too "Camaroish"
All your decision though Swede
