We REALLY NEED a vendor section.
« on: February 09, 2008 - 11:03:22 AM »
I've noticed that there are more vendors joining the site, or members are starting car related businesses of their own. It's hard to remember who is who, and who is selling what. As a result, they are missing sales, and we are missing discounts (I'm guilty on both counts). I recently bought almost $1000 worth of parts from someone else, because I didn't realize that several of the members were selling the same thing. They could have gotten the sale, and I could have saved a few bucks.

It's really time that we added a vendor section so that we can quickly find members that can handle our needs. It would benefit everyone. We could quickly find what we are looking for, and have personal communication with the vendor, something that just doesn't happen when you call most places.

Each vendor could, if he wanted to, start a thread in the sub board detailing what they do or offer, post pictures, etc. People could ask questions, resolve problems, give feedback, etc, there as well. It would be totally visible to us, and would act as a rating system for the vendors, as we'll be able to see how they treat us, what the quality of their services/parts are, and how satisfied we are.

I really do feel we need something, and I think this would be a valuable tool for us.

Raise your hands (Or your  :iagree: ) if you agree.

Funny you bring this up, I am currently in the middle of trying to make this happen.  I think it would be a good idea because I know I would rather buy from a trusted member here than from someone else.

I wonder if a sticky in the parts for sale section would not suffice... One post per vendor, vendors only.  :2cents:

I really like this idea. Maybe even be able to search per category or keyword right to the vendor.

I can barely afford vendors as it is. It would be nice to be able to go shopping right here on the site.

If I would of known how prices were going to be this high now adays, I would have bought my e body parts back in 1969  and one of them 340 t/a engines Barry found for 650 bucks.
