Rust Bullet or POR 15 inside the frames
« on: February 09, 2008 - 10:27:28 PM »
Anyone know of a way to get a good amount of spray of either POR or Rust Bullet inside the frames? I would like to get the back half frames a good coat inside.

My car is on a rotisserie.

For enclosed areas you can get a rocker shutz gun and modify a tube similar to a under coating kit. These have a spray end attached to spray a fan. Just slide it in a access hole and pull back out as you spray.
A good auto body suppy store should have a inexpensive under coat spray kit. You could also fabricate a end to do this also.

That's pretty good to know Dave. Never thought of anything like that

Another good thing that I found works just as good is to Completely remove your trunk floor, and any other panel that may be in your way, ( even if they're not rusty, take em out anyways. It will save you a ton of time in the long run  :roflsmiley: ..........J/K
But it was pretty convenient for me  :woo:

Actually, I'd just listen to Dave if I was you  :grinyes:

Thanks Dave for the heads up. I'll pay them a visit on Monday then to get what I need. I already did the trunk rails while the floor was out.

That product is for replacing the rust protection on a repaired panel. I would use the POR or Rustbullit to kill the rust that is already there myself.

you can pick up a shutz gun for around 20 dollars at eastwood,  also there rust encapsulator and to undercoat everything else spray on bedliner,  I used there gator gaurd II A little messy but with some prep masking and in a "tent "worked very well.

Hemiken just helped me out today with one I bought on e bag. It had the wand and the gun for 15 bucks. Kenny sent him the MO to the seller for me and then I paid him. Thanks again Kenny.  :2thumbs:

I used the eastwood one with por 15, messy but effective!
I just used a plain old piece of 3/8" tubing to extend the rod to get all the way into the rockers & long frame rails. Rich.
