Do flasher's go out that quickly?

I just did some work on my car, cleaned out the dimmer switch and wiper switch.  Dimmer switch is alot brighter now, wiper switch still doesn't work.  After I put everything together my blinkers no longer blink.  They blink maybe once or twice and that is it.  If its a bad flasher it would prolly not blink at all, correct?  If so, then its probably a grounding issue.  Where do the turn signal's get their ground from?

Sometimes a flasher can will give you a little burst of energy just to confuse you.

Most likely change the flasher unit and the blinkers will work properly again.

The ground is the ground on the bulbs. The rate of flash is dependant on the current flow through the flasher. Make sure both (or all) of the bulbs light and are the right bulb. A short may make the flasher stop.

Don't know why, don't know how, but the blinkers were working on the way to work this morning.

mine went out... was only like $2.50 to replace from advanced auto........
