Thanks for the info, Jeff.

I'm glad they had the rerun a couple of nights ago.  I only caught the beginning but it was cool when the "bad guys" went into the garage and you see a Tuned Port Chevy engine then the Knight 2000 in the garage, then the Mustang.

I wonder how soon before those cool add-ons appear at the local Autozone in isle 5?  :clueless:  :roflsmiley:  I don't have a new Mustang... does MEK?

I was at least going to write off to the people of Forza Motorsports and see if they could add a downloadable version of the old and new "KITT's" for the Xbox 360 game.  :)

That would be cool, but they'll probably decline due to licensing crap.

I dunno - who would decline?  Not Ford - that's more advertising, baby.  And NBC?  Hell - NBC needs all the money and help in advertising it can GET...  I think the only people that decline would be Forza itself (whoever owns the game that is) - they probably wouldn't figure that all the time in developing the add-on would be made back by people paying for the download.

Sorry, I meant the game owners, and them having to deal with the greedy network execs.

I heard it wasn't a very good show.

Depends on who you ask.  They had to pack a lot in for basically 1.3 or so hours of actual run-time.  Had to create new characters, explain their tie-in to the past, give the conflict, the little plot-twists (there wasn't much, but there never was in Knight Rider) and then wrap it all up.

Some reviews said the plot drolled on and was boring - it was, especially when broken up by 5 minutes of Ford commercials.  (The encore performance didn't suffer from nearly as much of this.)  But now we know everyone involved, so future episodes, if green-lighted, can be a bit more to-the-point.

Ya know the show itself really wasn't that much of a Ford commercial...  In fact, at the scene where KITT helped Michael and Sarah leave the Casino, KITT changed into a color (one of his new abilities) that Ford doesn't even offer the Mustang in - purple!  (According to the Ford website.)

Oh, jersyt, I emailed the Forza FAQ site about making a KITT DLC - with old and new versions.  (I also asked about an E-body 'Cuda!)

Well guys, what do you think?

I thought it was a bit sleazy.  Taking your clothes off in KITT, Sarah half dressed while Mike walks in, refrence to porn.  I mean yeah, its not a big deal, but come on.  And beautiful women are great and all, but lets not show so much just to increase ratings.

Overall it was alright, I'll probably watch again, because its hard to find something good on TV.  The Stang in the pilot was much better.  Turning into the '09 F150 was kinda not realistic, but what about that show is?  lol.

 :)

I had to reset my brain for a minute there to realize you were talking about the new "Knight Rider."  For a moment there, I saw something about 'Sarah' and "beautiful women are great" and "just to increase ratings" and thought we were talking about the election again.   :stirpot: :roflsmiley:

Oh...I didn't watch it then and I'm not watching it now.  "Knight Rider" that is.

I only got to see a couple of minutes of it. What kind of car was the "Bad girl" driving? It was pretty cool.

I only got to see literally 1 minute of it, when KITT came out of the transporter and did a 180, but I'm glad I didn't watch all of it with my 7 year old son, just that part.

It is sad when the networks have to sleaze it up to get ratings.  It's prime time and should make it for a whole family to watch, IMO.

It's sorta like when Battlestar Galactica came out.  I was psyched to show my little kids a show I used to watch when I was little and I turn it on and it's like a soap opera with people making out and all.   :(

I believe it was a Spyker Spyder.  I've seen them in Car and Driver from time to time, and also I believe on TopGear.

As for the show, I thought it was incredibly cheesey, and won't last too long.  It is basically a rehash of the show Viper which, outside of the car itself, was really bad.

I still don't know how someone can judge someone else for watching TV.  Sorry - I can't spend thousands of dollars on new cars or project cars or tools or all the stuff I'd like to do because I'm busting my butt to pay off credit cards and school loans to create some financial stability to help me and my family in the future.

So yes - I get excited about a TV show.  Get off me about it!!

NOW, that being said, I thought the show was terrible.  KITT was effectively turned into a Ricer, complete with blue neon underbody lights, flame out of the exhaust pipes - even the "follow the nitrous through the combustion process" video clip.  Awful.

My favorite part was at the aforementioned part when the car spins a 180 out of the transport plane and starts tearing down the runway.  Mike looks over into the passenger seat at a top-secret document given to him, and as the camera pans across his chest, you see that the car is in park.

Someone needs to teach these people - not just NBC, but producers the world around the special affects and fancy CGI imagery doesn't make up for crappy live-action cinematics.

I'll give 'em another shot, but only because I'm a Knight Rider loyalist.  I'm sure NBC has already lost over 75% of any potential new viewers.
