removing front bumper
« on: February 16, 2008 - 01:18:46 PM »
I'm taking the front bumber off to have it re-chromed, any good way to do this? I know of the obvious bolts, but are there some hidden ones?

Nope. Just the 4. 2 on each side.

Only thing you will run into is rusted bolts.  Spray them down real good and let them soak before taking it off.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

I see the bolts, but how do you get a wrench on the 2 outside ones? there isn't much room

I've always pulled the splash pan, but if you want to leave the splash pan then you will probably have to go in through the wheel well with a ratchet extension and socket.

I did that, just trying to get to the 2 outside bolts is a pain, guess I will have to drop the lower valance to get the clearance

I just can't remember how I got them. But I got them. But you got to do what you got to do some times.

I got it off, just had to use a wrench and turn just a little bit at a time, now just have to pay to have it re-chromed.  Thanks guys for your help.
