I have to drop the gas tank and get it cleaned out before it dump any gas in it.  One litttle problem - the gas cap is missing the key.  Anyone know how to get that P.O.S. off???

Knock the guts out of the lock with a BRASS punch.  If you use a steel one or drill the cap it may be the last thing you do.  Fumes are much more flammable than fuel.

I was actually planning on removing the whole filler neck before trying to get the cap off - not a big fan of things that go BOOM either

You are really going to town on this project.  Hope mine will go that quick also.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

I guess 3 months thus far is pretty good but it seems like a long time to me.  I'd be a lot farther along if the weather and my check book would cooperate

It's no biggie then.  Just drill out the lock and take the cap off.

Fast progress?  Holy $&!+, if what we've seen so far is slow, I need to bring you out here to do my car!

Looks great.  Although I'm not a big fan of Curious Yellow, I wish I had an extra $15k to buy it when it's done.

Thanks for the compliments - I  just feel like I am not getting anywhere.  I guess I am just too hard on myself sometimes.

Hopefully, I can get all the parts I need to complete within the next week or so, then I feel feel like I am getting somewhere for sure...

This weekend I restored the tail lights, detailed the grille, installed the new rear bumper, installed the new front door panels (tempararily because I need more clips) and put on the roof stobe stripes.  Busy today ordering various parts taht I need to move forward  :ebay:

As you can probably tell, I did not take these pics until it was late at night.  Can't wait to take it out into the sun for some REAL pictures    :picture:

Wow. That is going to be nice.

Did you ever show the original owner any pics? If you didn't, I wouldn't show him any. I'd just show up at a cruise when its done, and have a little fun before informing him it is his old "parts car".  :roflsmiley:

Yeah,  actually showed him some pics at the last Cowtown Mopar Club meeting.  But I only showed him them using the screen on my digital camera.  Had someone from the club come by yesterday to pick up a few small parts I set aside for him and he said he has a buddy that may very interested in buying it already.  I told him he can have his buddy come by anytime and see it as a work in progress if he'd like.  Keep your fingers crossed...
