Lucy's New Stance
« on: February 17, 2008 - 11:48:59 PM »

Hey guys, I took Lucy out for a nice 2 hour drive today, as usual she was well behaved. I stopped at the local racecourse and took some photos to show her new stance after her leafs were re-tensioned. She sits at just over 26" rear and I forget what the front is lol. I am very happy, doesn't have that "saggy/droop" bum she use to have, although it wasn't bad it wasn't good either. She now looks a lot lighter, handles and grips better and just looks like a muscle car should. As per any photo, they don't do her justice, she looks a lot better in person and the rake doesn't seem as obvious to the naked eye and when viewing the car in person.

Cheers,
Carl

Carl how much did it raise your Challenger from before? Yours looks like my 71 now with the one inch over stock springs I put on it. Gave me a better ride and a nice ride height.

Thanks guys, thing is, it's been on my list to do for some time yet I never really took much notice the day I got her after restoration. I guess at the time I was just happy to have her completed lol. But over time it really started to bug me so when I could bare to part with her for a couple of weeks (tension shop turn-around) I took her in, glad I did too.

Jeff - It was around 23" I believe, well down. I posted her exact total height in my "ride height thread" a month or so back I think.

Also, to top it off, the Gear Vendors now works 100% and isn't too bad, about f#%ken time!! :lol2:

A little to much rake for me but thats just my opinion....but then again it may just be the pic like you said... how much difference is there from the front to rear ??? however when the springs wear a lttle it will be nice.... Your gearvendors dont delay anymore??? it was like 2-5 seconds between shifts right...

You can't please 'em all. :smokin: I've just never been a fan of the "low whale look". In person it looks the same but for some reason the photos don't do it justice, though, I think the photos still looker killer LOL. The first photo is a pure side on "profile" shot, that's as much rake as you'll ever see. I'd love to see a thread of "profile" shots to compare. I know there are A LOT of "saggy bums" here and the profile would exaggerate them.  :grinyes:

GV's? Depending, yes, it was 2-3 seconds. That wasn't the problem, it use to kick out of OD at will no matter the speed/rpm. Now I click on and it kicks out when the speed reaches 20mph or so. I can click the foot switch and it kicks out if I'm entering a corner where 4th is too much to drop it into 3rd for some engine braking/better response.

Cool, nice to know. :lol2: As I said, if we all liked cars and the same mods it'd be a dull world.
I like it which is that matters and it seems to be the overall consensus (-1).

Thanks for the input.
