IMHO, a longitudinal 70 black R/T stripe, but if you are restoring for "correctness", gotta go with the molding

I know it is your car but I like the stripe. I have never really liked the body side molding on any of the cars I have seen.

I'm not a big fan of any side moulding.  In fact, mine has the lower body moulding on it and I'm not re-installing it - it makes for a great rust-trap.  (If anybody is interested in buying it or my rusty old luggage rack, shoot me a PM.)

I like the flat black stripe with the blue, not so much with some other colors, including my own Hemi Orange.  I'm thinking about other alternatives when it comes time to re-paint.

Not really into the side molding myself but I can't say I would change it if were mine.  I have an Jeep Woody that is turd brown and I thought I was going to change the color when I bought.  Now, after having it for a couple of years, that old turd brown has grown on me.

The side molding isn't nearly as hard to get along with as turd brown.... :poopoke: :poopoke:

I would say a stripe, but if you are going for correctness, then the molding.  Both look good IMO.

It absolutely kills me to use this smiley now, but..   :iagree:

I think either would look good. I just like how something along the side would break it up a little. Given you have a vinyl top, the original moldings might be all you need to make it "Pop".

Just my two cents, but if I had an R/T SE, I would build it as shipped from mother MoPar.  I have seen way too many of the side stripes and the hood blackouts.  It is personal preference I guess, but think of it this way,
why clone an R/T SE into something?  I had a 71 Challenger with the side molding and liked it better than the stripes.
What ever you decide it is a beautiful car.  In the end the unique option of the side molding will stand out in the crowd.
