wow wow and wow....you guys are good!  Thanks for the help.  I just recently bought the black convertible on this board and it needs some paint and body work.  While getting that work done, I'm thinking I may change a few things and want some ideas.  The car is black with red interior and a white top so I think an RT stripe in either white or red would work.  Thanks for the help...

Hey Vanished,
I love that car you bought buddy.  Have you thought of doing something different from the normal...............
How about a Semi-Gloss Black bum stripe against the Glossy Black paint old mate.  WOuld look unreal this way and would not take away from the White roof and Red interior at all, would actually enhance what you already have in my opinion. :2thumbs:

I agree that black stripes will look good.  The more I look at the car the less I think white or red tail stripe.  I am going to slap a T/A hood and spoiler on it first.  The T/A spoiler leaves me with no tail stripe or maybe a belt line rt stripe or t/a stripe in black.

I kind of think that the white top and red interior is already stand out enough with out sticking a stripe on.  If I ad a stripe in either color, I'm affraid that the car will look too busy.  The car came with a red pinstripe from the factory and I thought I would pull it first thing.  Even that pinstripe is growing on me now that I have the car home to admire.  I have been around mopar my whole life, and I have to say this is probably the most striking 318 car I have ever seen.

Hey Vanished,

I like how you are thinking now buddy, i really dig the red pin stripe aswell............. You had better check the fender tag as sometimes the pin stripe was painted on and not a decal.  Do not think of it as just a 318 car buddy, it is a unique color combo that i would love to have myself, regardless of engine size.  Make it a Hemi clone if you so desire old mate, they are still cool when you pop the hood and see that monster elephant in the engine bay.  Just keep the 318 under the bench stored away.

Let us know what stripe you decide buddy. :2thumbs:

The car is coded for the painted pinstripe.  The last owner put a tape pinstripe on it last year.  The car hasn't been painted in about 30 years and will need it.  The hood is the probably the worst part of the car, and that's why I have a TA hood on order (won't have to color match paint).

I want to ad my personal touches to the car as I own it.  The neat thing about this car, changing a couple of things will make the car look entirely different.  I will probably try the car out with a few different looks, all while being able to go back original.

A hemi clone challenger convertible has always been a dream car of mine.  I am not sure how long it will be until I have the funds to convert it,  but I would never let the 318 get away.   I also am the type of guy that won't let any other original parts get away.

If there were such a thing as the 318 nationals, I got to think this car has the potential to be a fan favorite.

I like the white on the last convertible.  I still appreciate pictures of black challengers, as I am in the process of altering mine.  I will post pics soon.

I hate to say it, but I wish that something would happen to mine to force a repaint. Right now the paint job is so damn nice it would be a shame to paint it. Would love to have it Triple Black though. Probably after I paint it black I would want something else though - LOL - I know myself too will. I always think the grass is greener on the other side and want something other than what I have.
