Is selling a broadcast sheet wrong?
« on: February 20, 2008 - 07:27:29 PM »
ebay item : 140206358367

Seems like there is only one reason for selling a bc sheet for ANY car, if you dont own the matching car. I know this bc sheet is for a 318 car, but it still seems shady to me..

I don't know about shady as much as just strange.  It's not the VIN tag or anything so it's not like someone is trying to bild a fake car with it.

I can't see how it's worth anything to anyone but the person who owns the car.   :dunno: :dunno:

:iagree:  Some people may just enjoy collecting them, but there are always the ones trying to commit a shady act (though it would be hard to not spot something fishy).

I dont think it shady to sell one if you have one thats not for your car."Guns dont kill people, people kill people"It shouldn't be your concern what the buyer does with it,anything Illegal is on him.

If I could find an original build sheet for my car, I would pay big time for it.

I don't think it's shady but it would be nice for it to go to the rightful owner.

Some people don't know about Barry's service and may be using Ebay to make this buildsheet public  :dunno: just giving the seller the benefit of the doubt.

Some people just like to collect old automotive literature too.

I would love to have mine for my 70 Cuda and would pay for it. I have 2 nice ones for 70 TA Challenger's and have had no luck finding the owners yet. One Barry had never heard of and the other was last known to be here in IL. where I live. Hope to give it to the owner once I find him.

I would love to have the one for my car also.  Have not taken it apart yet so still may be there.  I hope I find it when I take it apart for the restore.  I am not sure if I had one that I would sell it.  I would try to find the owner or find out if the car was still alive.  Well just my  :2cents:

I don`t think selling it is really shady but I don`t understand why anyone would buy it except the righfull owner.I guess some people collect them but I would rather give it to the owner or the car rather than sell it to someone who is just going to stick it in a drawer.

Legally, there is nothing wrong with it.

Morally, well, eveyone probably looks at it differently.

It's the same deal with fender tags. I wouldn't want one that didn't belong to my car, but a highly optioned rare tag to someone else... Who knows what they would do with it.   :dunno:
