340 heads
« on: February 21, 2008 - 01:09:06 PM »
For sale is a set of small block heads originally off a 73 340. They are 587 castings and have had 2.02 valves installed. They only have about 30,000 miles run time since having the new valves installed. They also have the Mopar perf. single springs with dampers. The bowl area was cleaned up after the installation of the larger valves but no other porting was done. They had been stored in a garage attic for the last 10-12 yrs. uncovered and they were pretty filthy so I power washed them off and allot of the paint blew off. I have visually checked these over very thouroughly for any stripped bolt holes or cracks and found no problem at all with them but I would recommend installing new valve seals before use. They will also need some more cleaning to remove the rest of old gaskets.

These were the original heads from a buddies 73 Cuda and with a mild cam he ran 13.70's with it back when they were on it.

$225 plus shipping. Shipping will run somewhere between $60-$80 depending where you are.

I will be going to the Indy Heads swap meet on Mar. 1 so if your interested in them and are going I can bring them with me to save you shipping costs.

Please note that they say 360 in the valve area. I believe all small block heads after 71 said 360 on them even if they were on a 340.

E-mail is catrac at frontiernet.net and ph. # is 217-556-2800.

I'm located halfway between St.Louis and Springfield IL. 10 miles s.w. of Litchfield IL.

Thanks, Tracy

I'm game.  How much to ship to Miami?  Remember, like almost everyone on this site, I'm on a tight budget.

Thanks,

Man I know the feeling. I missed out on a good deal for some rocker arms this past saturday at the Indyhead swap meet. I thought I'd look around and see if there was any better deal there. Of course there wasn't and when I went back they were gone. :banghead:

I'll let you know if he don't come through.
