Ah, for some reason i thought you'd have a 727 with a factory 360 car?

Well it's an original 318....I don't think the 360 was an option in 73, was it?

Not on an E-Body... but other Mopar's it could be had.

Some auto stores show it as an option in 74, but not 73.  Everytime I go to Advance Auto I have to tell them it's a 74 for anything engine related.

I knew it was a 904 because Robert and I kind of built it together. ;)

:smilielol:  You got that right T.....thanks again for all those tips!

Ok, I got my pins in the mail today, but can someone tell me what I need to do with them again?  I'm a little foggy on how they go in and what keeps them in there, etc.  :clueless:

They go in,one in from each side, small dia. in first (just like Rob's pic)

The rivet goes in thru both and holds them in place till the axles go in. ( the axles actually bump up against the big heads on the pins)

Ok, mine came with a rod with each pin connected to the rod, so do I remove the rod and then place each pin in, or leave the pins connected to the rod and put the whole thing in as 1 unit?  :dunno:

My 73 Service Manual says:

Carrier to axle housing bolt nuts - 45 ft/lbs

BIG question....we're having difficulty (Goody and I) adjusting the end play...seems like whenever we tighten the axel bolts sligtly, we loose all end play.....my ? is.....is the rivet supposed to be put in the carrier with the pins?  or shold we have left it out?? :clueless:

The center pin in the sure grip I guess you installed all the way and tight, you had a non sure grip and 489 type in there prior. It was a square block. So it had a floater type. The axle was adjusted to that  other one before. So it sounds like you need to first install and tighten the non adjusting axle all the way, then, loosen the adjuster on the other axle , install it, tighten the 5 bolts, then adjust the end play.  Did I explain it good enough?
