Where is the best place to pick up a T/A hood?
« on: February 22, 2008 - 12:48:53 PM »
I would like to get a T/a hood ordered up and didn't know if anyone has bought one or had an idea as to where to go to get one.

Thanks, Vanished

This has been tossed around a lot and I believe the concensus was that these are pretty good.

I know from personal experience that the hoods from unlimited products (www.up22.com) are absolute crap. There are a few others on here who agree.

I appreciate the feedback.  That's actually the only option I had found so far.  Good to know they have a good product.

 I must agree.
I bought mine from them many years ago for a hefty price, and the quality did not equal the price.
In all fairness though, I bough mine in the early 90's, so they may have improved it since then.
Also my father accidentally ran it over one time while it was on the ground, and it only cracked underneath.
I still have the hood to this day

Still looks good though.  I'm thinking about adding a T/A hood to my convertible.

That's a great idea. You would definitely have a one of a kind.   :2thumbs:

The thing is... if you go Hemi and use a cross-ram intake, that won't work.

I got mine from unlimited in 2000-2001 time frame and it doesn't look anywhere near as nice as yours does.

The hood and other items could be pulled and sold if needed.  They will satisfy my need to tinker while I figure out what type of Hemi I want and what it will cost me.  I want to get the car out and enjoy it. Then I will decide If I have to have the hemi.  Keeping the vette isn't the worst option in the world either.

OK,

How about a T/A hood, skip the Hemi idea for now, and you can keep that great looking Vette?   :naughty:

I used this hood on my Pro-Street last year.  I was very happy with it.  Although, if you want one that looks original - it is TOO nice

This looks like my hood to me.  Now I just need to figure out the cheapest way to get it to my door.

Thanks,

I got a Unlimited on mine.  I think the ebay one looks nicer and more complete.

I had to cut out the scoop and the rear vents are sealed on mine too.

Wasn't there a post either here or on Moparts about the 70 hemi cuda could have the AAR optional hood?  I wonder if there's a major difference under neath the aar vs t/a hoods that makes it to where it wouldnt work on the t/a's
