my new friend
« on: February 24, 2008 - 07:19:02 PM »
As many of you know, I have lost both of my older Brittany's, they were 12 & 13, one I had to put down because of kidney disease, the other had a heart condition and I came home one day and he had passed.  I have a 2 year old Brittany that I got when I found out one of my older Brittany was terminal with kidney disease.  After both older dogs were gone, I went looking for a friend for my young Brittany, but found almost all of the pet adoption and rescue think dogs are all inside dogs so they wouldn't adopt to me.  I'm ok with that if it is a small dog or a dog not breed for the enviroment, but Brittany's, malimutes, etc are outside dogs.

Anyway we got Louie from an animal shelter, he is named Louie because that is the state trooper that picked him up skin and bones, he is deaf and 1 eye didn't develop, but an extremley nice dog that loves a new start and a good home.

Thanks for letting me rammble.

Good for you, and Louie too!

We have had great luck with Pound animals over the years.  We don't have any cats now due to a Coyote problem in the area. :22yikes:

That is good and I am glad you got one.  Never replaced my dog yet.  Well in a way I did I took in 4 little kids to replace him.
Got a pretty good start on my M46 optioned Barracuda restoration but now it is on hold till I can gather more funds.  Still need a few parts for it.  SIU Graduate 75 AAS Automotive Tech, 94 BS Advanced Tech Studies, 1997 MSED Workforce Education and Development

Dr. Doolittle eh! Me too, I love my little friends. After my back surgery in 95, I had to wait a few months before I could even walk to the mailbox, my dogs, birds, cats , helped to cheer me up. They were/are always there for me no matter how they themselves feel. Unconditional love/sacrifice is sometimes overlooked. It shouldnt be. it's good to hear when a person rescues a poor abused animal, afterall, sometimes they rescue us as well. Eddie
