DrDiff rear disc conversion kit

I bought the DrDiff 11 3/4 disc conversion kit and started the install this weekend. Didnt get much accomplished outside of disassembly as it looks like I need new outer seals on my axle shafts. Good info on changing these BTW using ShelbyDoggs post here:

Here's pics of the kit, as it ships. It's a high quality package, the brackets are made of .740 thk aluminum and are black andoized finish. These are his own design. The calipers are new, loaded from 94-04 Cobra. The rotor is open vane, 3/4 thk. I also bought the optional custom park brake cables. I'll post up pics as I install it. About all I got done was painting the calipers and cleaning up the axle housing, hubs, etc. Am considering making up new rear brake lines.

Looks good!  If you don't mind me asking, what was the cost?  Also, you may want to grind off the ford on the calipers, don't want to confuse your car any!

Cost of the kit was $600, the custom parking brake cables were optional at $100.

Maybe a good thing it hasnt sold yet, I may end up having to use that Hellwig bar yet.

Well after a crash course on rear axle rebuild 101 am ready to move forward with the disc conversion. May not get cranked back up on it till this weekend though.

new seals, reworked axle shafts with new brgs, seals, and 3" wheel studs, detailed calipers

Look carefully, it's a Snapon box. Nice. Should have sanded off the Ford logo, but they look great.

Axles rebuilt, and installed today. Set the end play, and mounted calipers. Mount bolts were a shad long, put a washer under the head, and clears. Put the wheel on for test fit, all good in the hood. Tomorrow I start working on the new lines and parking brake cables. As it is, I dont see this kit interfering with link end of the OEM sway bar.

Got the flex line stays welded to the rear end, fabbed up new lines and ran em. Installed the e-brake cables. Getting closer.

Got the brakes bled last night and no leaks! Nice to move thru a phase of the project with no issues!!   

On a side note, not all el-cheapo double flaring tools are created the same. ** 


I installed the kit parking brake cables, and then reconnected them to my existing parking brake cable system and have a new issue. Probably 6-8" too much slack. I have the nut all the way up on the threaded adjustment bolt. WTF? Does anyone have a diagram of the parking brake cable run on 71 and up Ebody? I need a reality check here.

you need a good flare too , you cannot cut corners on a flare tool
 the intermediate cable is held by a hook to the front right of the trans crossmember maybe you can shorten the hook
