60s, 70s, 80s, 90s - 2000s??
« on: February 25, 2008 - 08:06:43 PM »

I was thinking, this decade has gone way too quick. What do you think the new millennium will be known far and as? The 60s and 70s of course were the hippy years, muscle cars, war, love and peace. 80s were known as bad taste, bad music, synthesizers, highlighter coloured clothes and Jerry curls. The 90s? Grunge, PCs, cellphones, MTV. What do you think stood out the most about 2000-2010 thus far? Obviously it's now "Post 9-11" and that will forever remain in our thoughts, it's hard to shake images like that, anything else? Flat screen TVs? Muscle cars reborn? :dunno:

I'd say the gulf war, but which actually started in the 90's but it ain't over yet. Yes this decade will be remembered for terrorism. Sad but true. On a scientific note..., IPODS & X-BOX 360 & the razor phone. And last but not least....The revival of the Dodge Challenger!!! :clapping: :clapping: :clapping:

Apart from what's been mentioned already:

That everybody and their grandmother became online.
Netsocieties, like MySpace, Facebook, and various others.
We can probably expect some future jokes about this decades Swiss Army mobile phones, or cell phone as some like to call them (Trust the americans to invent some dumb new word rather than consider for a few seconds whether an existing word might do). :poopoke:

This decade will have one first - either a black or a woman will take the presidential office.  Or we're all going to nominate Conan O'Brian at the last minute...  :)
