Won't this negatively affect the roll center for the rear suspension, i.e. make body roll easier?

Thats what I had read. I wasnt worried about moving them in 1" or so but was a bit concerned about handling after installing the 3" relocation kit.

You guys are on the right track, but with the wrong term. Roll center is the points that the car pivots around, basically the center point of the suspensions. What moving springs inboard does is create a bigger moment lever arm to work against the springs so you reduce roll resistance. The formula for figuring out the leaf spring suspension wheel rates is D1 divided by D2 multipled by the spring rate. D1 equals the distance between the spring pads, D2 the track width of the wheels/tires. Stock XHD springs are around 120#, SS springs range from 140-160. So you can calculate how much wheel rate you lost by moving your springs. I'd bet probably not a whole lot. So, once you add in the roll resistance of an anti-sway bar, then you can get back that resistence or more likely, exceed it.

I need to revive this thread for a quick question:

After Carlisle last weekend I found a new favorite wheel for my 'Cuda.  It's by ROH International - made in Australia.

I really think 18 inches is what I want, but the best option they have is 18x9's with a 15 millimeter positive offset.  This will result in about 5" inches of offset.

Can I remedy this with a simple 1/2 spacer and longer studs?

Here is the best image of the wheel I could find.  They're available here near Columbus, OH, for $175 a piece.

cool wheel... i run 3 inch wheel studs... mr gasket makes several thickness spacers... or you could just have one milled down to exact specs needed..

I'm curious about that as well. Was there any handleing change noticed from those that have moved their springs in? :clueless:
