taxing who?
« on: February 28, 2008 - 07:24:25 AM »
I just need to rant a bit.Last night I read where the jerks we put in office voted to tax the oil co. again.Great, because crap flows down hill and we are the ones that will take the hit once again.I think the next time I see one of these morans(like big head Ted)Ted Kennedy driving through here in his shiny red vette,I am just gonna pull alongside stick my finger down my throut and puke all over him.Do these IDIOTS really think thats gonna help anything?I see people getting very irritated with everything going on,and some are just giving up.WE THE PEOPLE----Oh wait this isn't the land of the free,This is the land of the CEO who makes more money than is right and our little workers will keep going to work and keep their mouths shut. They all better start wearing bullit proof body armor, because it will be cheaper to snipe one of these jerks and go to jail -food clothing and a bed to sleep in.I am not a violent person, but I will cheer when the first one gets wacked.Sorry for this guys and girls, but this is really out of control.

I am convinced that gas prices and the oil company's are in with the government and it is all a bunch of BS that is making people's pockets fat!

The oil companies are in bed with the car companies, and they're all in bed with the politicians. They all suck. That's why car mileage has not signicantly increased in 50 years, and why every time they propose new standards, they say it will take 20-30 years to meet them.

I am not an advocate of big oil companies, or any large monopoly. But what a lot of people in this country fail to understand is the difference between PROFIT and PROFIT MARGIN. Yes, the oil companies are making millions & millions more than last year. BUT, their profit margin is basically the same as it's been for years & it's not much any different than any other large corporation or small for that matter. I owned and ran a business for many years. Each year I made more money, but my profit margin basically stayed the same. The real demons are the middle eastern countries that are raping the world for a cost of crude!!! :pullinghair:

all the talk of conspiracies and 100 mpg cars and secret inventions being kept on the shelf bring back fond memories of my childhood. circa 1979 there were cars that supposedly ran on water, 100 mpg fuel injection systems bought and shelved by the big 3 ( remember the kendig?). one of the great things that came out of that era was music about oil.  my favorite of the time period was " cheaper crude or no more food "

" if they dont lower the gas we're gonna lower the boom "
" stop shipping all that wheat and corn and forget the golden rule "
" if they dont lower the price of crude we're gonna cut off the food "
" and in about a week theyll sing a different tune "

funny thing is we are already driving the prices of wheat and corn through the roof by trying to power our suvs with crops.

if that dont make yaa laugh you dont have a sense of humor hehehe

There are enough oil reserves here in the U.S. to meet all our fuel needs however the problem is with all the NIMBY's who stop drilling and exploration. Also the technology exists to make coal burn much cleaner as well as extract oil from it. But agailn its the left wing liberals getting in the way.  As far as corn for producing ethanol, well, we all can clearly see what that has done to the entire food market. Nothing against alternative fuels but there are other ways to produce them without making corn shortages. Another gripe is these fools stopping the installation of wind farms,,, Its a relatively inexpensive and clean way to produce electricity but again  NIMBY's errrrrrrrrrrr :poopoke:  I'll stop now before i get mad

moparmaniac59,

I hear you about profit margin.  Let's say it's 10%.  Now lets say you pay $50 for oil,  $5 profit right ?  $100 for oil, $10 profit.  $200 for oil, $20 profit.  Guess how much they'd like to be paying for oil ?  And wouldn't I like to be running a business like that !
