Man Jeff, that is terrible news.  Although I know you are bummed, I know that you will find another job that is much better than the last one.  Best of luck, but I know you will be OK!

Sorry about what happened Jeff. I wanted to offer my condolances since you were kind on my post about me losing my job because the company closed. I guess your manager didn't realize that you didn;t have any work until you pointed it out to him. He must be a real Gomer.

Get in touch with a staffing service, like Manpower. They always have work for people. Also, sign up with places like MONSTER, JOBSTER, DICE, CAREERBUILDER, etc. You'd be surprised at the leads you can get there.

At this time, my only options are to move to another part of the country, or maybe just do something on my own. I'm still looking for ideas, but I hope I'll come up with something soon. Have you ever though about doing something on your own? I know, around here, all of the neighborhood type garages have more business than they can handle, because people are sick of taking their cars to the high priced dealerships unless it is for warranty work.

sounds like your boss was closed minded to me , if I had an employee that came to me saying he wanted to work harder or more efficiently that wouldn`t be the guy I would be laying off ...poeple are Stupid

Just curious, but you said in your original post that you had a unique schedule. What was your schedule, and did they stick you with it, or was it something that you requested?

Jeff,

It has been quite awhile since I was in your area so I need to ask - do you have a lot of cars with headlights that are clouding or yellowing?  If so, I might have a solution for employment opportunities.  I do headlight restoration here in Miami and the job (once you are trained) pays very well.  If you see a need for this type of service in your area send me an e-mail and I'll let you know how I got started.  The job requires three things:  HONESTY, patience, and attention to detail.

Yeah Headkace you got me - I guess I'm not really one for a pity parade, but on the same token want people to take my side.  :)  lol...

GOOD NEWS - Job Interview tomorrow with Tires Plus as a service manager.  It's going back to my Goodyear roots, BUT it's most likely a salary position, WHICH means I can possibly buy a house WHICH means I can POSSIBLY have a MOPAR PARTY at my HOUSE in JULY for CARLISLE...  :)  (It's kinduva dream...)

Anyways, wish me luck, and I really do thank all of you for your kind thoughts and condolences.  I know that compared to some people on this board, and a lot of people on the planet Earth, I still have it pretty good, so I really don't go looking for sympathy - just try to get up, brush myself off, and get back to work.

On the bright side, I enjoyed lots of quality Xbox 360 time.  :)

Thanks again, and I'll keep y'all posted.
